Subtree Rework - Nation Folders

A lot of it would’ve been copy and paste anyway, there was no point.

Old Forum Suggestion Archive

Since the old forum is planned to be deleted in June of this year, the original old Forum Subtree Rework suggestion will sadly be gone with it. To prevent it from being gone forever, it was archived and will stay accessible in the future.

Archived version of the original suggestion by @馮如

Sadly this Archive doesn’t load images, so the included Images are separately listed here, as well as a screenshotted version of the suggestion with the images in their context.

Damn, I mean, aren’t a lot of these combinations confirmed now? Or might that just be a coincidence?

Either way, for BeNeLux it would be definitely my first favoured option for implementation, as of now there are more than a hundred unique vehicles that won’t be added from these 3 nations because of lack of need/space as they are a subtree (and even more that are modifications of already-in-game vehicles). The same holds true for the unconfirmed ‘subtree’ nations Switserland and (dominion of) Canada.

Maybe try a browser add-on named Singlefile. I just saved all of vehicle suggestion of old forum with it including images which still available now.(Sadly some images on hosting sites are no longer available now)
It’a really big file folder with 42GB!
Maybe i should save non-vehicle suggestions now.

Maybe we should make a updated version for 2025…

I made one that shows all current subtrees, as well as possible future subtrees as long as they have either been soft confirmed through game additions or are often discussed subtree options.

I just generally wasn’t sure where to put many countries. For example a LATAM subtree for Israel seems popular, but I wasn’t sure what nations to include besides Chile, and for USA while there are many options I wanted to consider other nations first. For post-Soviet states I was also not sure, so I included the non-NATO ones for now.
I also tried to stay clear of controversy, and tried to avoid personal bias. So for example with the ASEAN subtree for Japan I excluded Singapore and Malaysia for now and only included the relatively agreed upon Indonesia and Philippines.

So that should explain why many options that might seem obvious to some are missing. I’ll try to expand it in the future and would be happy to hear any feedback to help improve it!

I also made a version that only lists confirmed subtrees (And whatever Canada / Australia are)

New Zealand for UK as there’s already 2 vehicles in game?

I think that the countries that have the most relationship with Israel, besides Chile, in Latin America are Argentina, since it used the Dagger/Finger, and in tanks you have the TAM modernized by Elbit, Brazil also for the modernization of the F-5EM, and you could add as secondary nations Colombia and Ecuador, which use the Kfir but do not have modern armored vehicles. That is why if you look for the nation with the most relationship with Israel in all branches (tanks, planes, ships, helicopters), the only nation that has a large quantity is Chile.

When is this being applied, its a no-brainer…

Come on Gaijin implement this Mechanic

Since Gaijin seems to be on the lookout for new monetization methods, I think it’s time I come up with one of my own to go hand in hand with the suggested Subtree Rework…

Incentive

Essentially Incentive is supposed to be, as the name suggests, a monetary incentive for Gaijin to add the Subtree Rework. However since Gaijin seems to struggle trying to think of player friendly ways to increase profits, and this is supposed to promote my suggestion, it’s only fair I’d offer them a bit of help here.

  • Feel free to share your opinions on this system, and vote in the poll below whether this would be something you would appreciate when deciding to spend your money

How does it work?

Basically it works by giving the players a positive incentive (I got to use the name a lot ^^) to buy premium vehicles of different operating nations.

It does this through two parts of the existing RP modifier system:

Premium RP multipliers

Premium vehicles in game already get increased RP rewards, for example this premium T-2 Early, gets the usual 100% RP gain, as well as the 100% premium account bonus and the 100% RP gain increase through the Talisman bonus that all premium vehicles come with by default.

image

Research by previous vehicle

When researching a vehicle with the previous one in line, RP gain towards that vehicle is increased to 110% of the actual RP earnings.

With the incentive system, premium vehicles add this same 110% research gain when researching tech tree vehicles of the same operator nation. So when researching the F-5T, the AV-8S (early)'s research modifiers might look something like this:

When selecting (for example) a Thai vehicle for research, all Thai premiums gain an additional 1.1 times multiplier, which allows them to provide 110% of the actual RP gains to vehicle research.

While the system is intended for premiums, it might be applied to all vehicles in the premium section, including event vehicles that usually come without premium RP bonuses.

The benefits of Incentive

From a player perspective, this increases research efficiency on premium vehicles when researching the same operating nation. For example while the Thai AV-8S (Early) will research Thai vehicles quicker, the T-2 (Early) will research Japanese vehicles quicker.
Still, this system does not take away from the efficiency of existing premium vehicles, as they are still researching other operating nations at the current rate of 100%

From a developer perspective, this encourages players to buy more premium vehicles to gain research benefits, resulting in players deciding to buy more premium vehicles.

This system obviously functions best when each operator nation has a dedicated tree, such as the main Subtree Rework would bring. That way there is enough tech tree content for current subnation premiums to be worth it for this benefit.

What are your thoughts on this idea? (please vote after reading)
  • I would like to see this incentive added
  • I am indifferent to this incentive
  • I do not want to see this incentive added

I hope this might serve as a way to show Gaijin that there is ways to boost profits without alienating your player base in the process, or using predatory marketing strategies built on pressure, fear of missing out or limiting free to play options.

Ah, speaking of monetization,

I’ve had this thought for some time, this would allow Gaijin to add pre-orders for sub-trees. Much like full trees had in the past, with them, being treated as full nations.

Just add another tech tree at this point

Well, all premiums still have at least 100% efficiency with the incentive system. Only for their operator nation this is increased to 110%.

So with incentive, you can buy the T-2 and AV-8S to have 110% efficiency researching each vehicle from both Thailand and Japan.
However if you only have the AV-8S you can still research any Japanese vehicle with the same efficiency as you can now. It does not take anything away, but rewards you more for buying both.

Although you might face some backlash for this suggestion, I think it would be a nice addition and further encourage Gaijin to add more other nations. (Now only if we got more room in tech trees to facilitate that like these tab trees)

EDIT EDIT: Lol, I am going to modify some of the info/screens in the post below still in a bit, need a break first though Subtree Rework - Nation Folders - #279 by SilentTracker

Spoiler

EDIT: OK! I think this is correct now, please let me know if there are still any errors, math or concept wise. Thanks!

Some comments about the math, you would need to add the new RP boost % inside of the ( )'s.

Everything inside the ( )'s is additive (all RP boosts currently are), and everything outside of the ( )'s is multiplicative (like the Premium vehicles’ 2.0x SL boost. Which doubles SL boosters, unlike the additive math that RP boosters use).

A 1.1x outside of the ( )'s wouldn’t work as you described. Everything inside the ( )'s is always added together before the external multipliers are factored in ( PEMDAS ).

Your 1.1x multiplier math shown below:
(I used Wolfram Alpha to make sure of your initial math, which is correct, the result would be 765.6%)

image

However, 1.1x like you have outside of the ( )'s would be a multiplier. And, it would not be 10%. An increase from 660% to 766% = an increase of 16.06%:
(I am using Wolfram Alpha to prevent errors on my part.)
image

Conversely, if you did add an extra 100% inside the ( )'s, the result would be 928%
2.32x(100%+100%[premium time]+100%[Talisman]+100%[New proposed boost])
2.32x(400%) = 928%

image

IF your intent is to add a simple 10% RP boost, then you would add it inside of the ( )'s:
image

Resulting overall % increase in RP boost from 660% to 719.2% = overall increase of 8.97% (This resulting overall % increase is always going to be a bit funny, as the RP multiplier to the left of the ( )'s changes depending on the BR of the vehicle.) But the resulting overall % boost is much closer to 10%, compared to adding a 1.1x to the outside of the ( )'s.
image

Even if you added a 2.0x RP boost outside of the ( )'s it would never be an added 100%, it would be a 2x multiplier to everything else previously added up inside the ( )'s making a proposed RP boost wildly high 🙂

So, if you are intending to only increase the gain by 10%, you would simply add in an extra 10% inside of the ( )'s, not 100%, nor 110%. And absolutely nothing outside of the ( )'s. You cannot add a % outside of the ( )'s because it would instead be turned into an intensely powerful multiplier. (And again, 1.1x outside of the ( )'s does not = 10%, it is well over 10% “because of the math” lol.)

UNLESS that is your intent, but the resulting boost would be much higher than 10%, especially at higher BR’s where the normal RP multiplier outside of the ( )'s gets higher.

TL;DR: Percent boosts go inside the ( )'s, multipliers go outside the ( )'s 👍

Yeah, sorry I made this unclear, but the AV-8S usually has a total multiplier of 696%, which is higher than the T-2s 660%. So due to that your math is a bit off, since I didn’t provide all necessary values for it.

I should’ve probably included that as a reference.

Basically the entire math I did was just taking the final RP multiplier of 696% and multiplying that by 1.1, which is 765.6 (rounded up to 766). The reason I added it to the end rather than in front of the brackets like the the premium SL multiplier of 2.0 used to double SL gain is simply lazy editing.

This basically means that the final SL gain is increased by 10%.

I did also consider applying it like a 10% booster, which gives 719.2%.

This only increases final RP gain by ~3.3%.

Since I wasn’t sure if the next-vehicle-in-line bonus applied like a booster or a full multiplier, I decided to use the more significant number of the two, since that benefits the players more, but also gives a greater ince tive to spend money from a dev perspective.

Of course this is just an example value. This idea is more of a proof of concept to show Gaijin that the Subtree Rework can be profiteable to them, and in light of the current auction situation also to show them that you can create incentives to spend money without building on predatory marketing or harming players in any way.
