im coming back to this thread again after some time, rereading the things said here and such, and this sentence still irks me. Pre-Kh25MPU same as Su25T the Su39 was genuinely busted.
Post Kh25MPU + L150ESM the Su25T and this thing are still genuinely busted.
Thanks to the recent sale on Chinese tanks, planes and helis ive bought the ZTZ96B, Z19E and MKK which makes me in general play 11.7 china. Id say that china and Russia dont really see any specific difference in matchmaker bias where the amount of downtiers would differ massively based on playing a specific nation but ive also played with my friend who was doing 11.7 Russia and i can tell you that this whole posts argument genuinely tends to boil down to skill issue.
Since i got the Z19E i obviously also spawn in the air at 11.7 and if the map is terrible i first spawn it. The amount of IRIS-T SLMs ive seen is not that significant to be honest like its painted here. And you still see a pretty high amount of downtiers to 10.7-11.3 overall where the Su25T/Su39 are just busted.
In fact in the matches where i go against Russia as i get put together with USA, its not uncommon at all for my ZTZ96B to disintegrate due to Russian CAS of either Frogfoot or Fencer variety.
Small tip btw incase youre getting shat on by SLMs, ive dodged multitude of SLM missiles in Z19E by simply firing off few sacrificial BA9s that the SLMs switched targeting to. The SLM bug that was plaguing it since its introduction is still there to abuse. As for dying on airfield, theres not much else to say than “shit map design” which is pretty much a staple of this game.
Everything else than SLM and maybe NOMADs/CLAWS/NASAMs 9Xs you can generally dodge via multipath, breaking LOS or in the case of SLS and CSSA5 simply just flaring and shmoving.
The actually scariest SPAA ingame, the SM SV, is on your team so like, you really just have to deal with SLM atmost, which you can either break DL guidance off before IR kicks in (you have 16 vikhrs, you can sacrifice couple) or its on your team as GER+RU are a common pairing.

Giving it radar missiles like OP wants would just end up with it going up in br which reduces its effectiveness.

to be honest it doesnt even need it, you got archers which are good enough for close range engagements. Adding R27s of R or ER variety wouldnt really help much youll still get bullied by dedicated air patrol/multi-role planes in GRB and in ARB youd just get moved up to 12.0+ BR which is extremely painful.
Plus if i had bought the Su39 i wouldnt want R27s on it anyway, because unless it takes the R60M pylon its just shooting yourself in the foot for miniscule gain.
You wouldnt want to get rid of Kh29TD/TEs, vikhrs, MPUs nor archers for the ability to bring R27s and be forced to use the underfuselage radar. So with little to no gain in GRB which is the main use of the plane, and honestly a straight up nerf in ARB due to increase in BR it would just not be worth it. Unless gaijin decide to leave it where it is BR wise which would be just pure bs.

I mean why not make a suggestion thread for a tech tree/event vehicle variant su39 w/AAM especially if their a demand for it from players though?

Good,russian CAS can suffer a lot. Every Su-39,Su-25T and Ka-50 i blow up in a 11.7 match is another notch up my belt. Y’all have the most toxic ground+CAS combo,you deserve to be bullied into infinite uptiers with IRIS-Ts and SAMPs
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking wouldn’t it be best like the f2a instead of a f16 ADF (some think it should only have aim7 or it should have aim120) situation or maybe even dynamic battle rating for some not all vehicles?
