I think this is grb thread where a10c pretty much stinks given its same 10.7 a10 with useless gbu39s (because you lack both speed and alt and they make you even more sluggish) and aim9ms which are useful but arent smth making a10c good or just fine at 11.7.
Like harrier is right there with actually usable las+gnss bombs or 4 saphe agm65 and good acceleration (for price of having temperature of light blue star tho). Also f111f but in top tier its just huge gamble because you have no clue what is pinging your rwr. And now su39 with vikhrs for mcm jousting, kh31p, kh25mpu.
Every single of those jets is upgrade to models on lower brs but a10c is only upgrade on a paper, downsides are just too severe.

Im looking at this from perspective of guy who bought av8b na when it was at 11.7 and faced all sorts of top tier aa, free s1 spam, sm sv etc. Not saying I suffered therefore you must suffer. I just think its not as impossible or difficult as you describe. Especially on airframe with bigger arsenal and better sead abilities. Its not as easy as sealclubbing 10.3 but its still doable.

In air sim yes no doubts. But in grb it barely helps with fact that s1, sm sv and now fk2000 casually obliterate your entire load. And even if they dont it still barely deals any damage from low alt launches compared to top down f4e for example.
You can be as safe as you wish but if you get no kills then you just wasted 950 (while arm su39 is around 750 btw) sp and player slot that could be smth useful.

Considering the ranges S-300s fire at, I doubt such high angle happens unless youre on the enemy side of map.
