I know the AIM-9X as a close range next to a mid range R77 sounds stupid but I was trying to tell that both have the same G capability. Which sounds unfair from the mid range R77. Because the NATO counterpart the AIM-120 has only 35G what doesn’t even work properly. Ofc the close range can and will do the job but we’re talking about long range missiles.
So if they just say no to high G long range missiles atleast add the AIM-9X instead.
R-77-1 I agree is the second best AAM in game but R-77 no, that thing is pretty mid imo
The thing is the other nations ir missiles will simply be better than the 9x block 2 (if they were actually modeled right). Rn, the 9x blk 2 is the strongest iir missile with the others being gimped as hell. iris t garbage range, camm has a horrendous maneuvering delay (ik it’s arh but asram should have same maneuvering characteristics ), python 5 is just ass, etc. if the next gen ir missiles do come the way they currently are modeled, I would actually expect aim 9x blk 2to be the strongest after r74m2 and mica ir.

Aim-9M vs Aim-9X would not be balanced.
So does that mean the Typhoons can get their IRIS-T and ASRAAM?
Can the Gripen get IRIS-T?
Can the Soviets get R-73M/R-74?
Can Israel get the P4/P5?

Why didnt we get them sooner? The Germans, Brits, Italians got EFT, Russians got SU30 and French got Rafales, I’d rather get F15EX than another worthless F15C with only AAMs

especially because with gaijins poor modeling of rafale, it will still be better than the new f15, unless they do something crazy like give it 16 missiles

I think USA shouldn’t get special treatment by getting AIM-9X way earlier than other IIR missiles.
Getting AIM-9X because of R-77/77-1 is a dumb idea.
We don’t need another F-14A case from “Danger Zone”
Fixing AIM-120A/B/C would be better than OP’s Idea.

Implementing the AIM-9X for U.S. aircraft just to counter the SU-30SM is a dumb idea, albeit honest. What would work better.
- More AESA radar’s on American jets
- Fixing the gimped AIM-120A/B/C (low-smoke, agility, etc)
- The AIM-9M was recently nerfed and now produces a lot of smoke which might be accurate but at the same time it seems to me that this is too much to be accurate
- Looking a tad bit into the FMs of the jets (F-15’s top speed is too low, F-15C is fatter by 400 kilos, yada yada yada)
- The BOL accepted for 2 years by now… on several jets
Little improvements that don’t have to be the propagandistic black magic (e.g F-15C with AMBER), which would improve the experience with U.S. jets WITHOUT making them blatantly op by giving them an AIM-9X Blk I early (before the other modern Fox 2s)
