If Russia had enough sources to fund enchanced Mig-29’s prototypes situation would’ve been different.
But we’re not living a world where if’s are means anything.

MiG 29 is fast…fast jets can run missiles out of energy, you are comparing it to an “older airframe”

The scenario I gave you was switching that UA MiG 29 with an F-15 its down low to avoid SAMs and. We are not talking both aircraft at 40kft. The shot was taken by a MIG 31NBM at 45kft to hit a UA MiG 29 flying low and cold back to a UA airbase.
Russian electronics are behind NATOs no one disputes that.

Not really, Ukraine has very old Mig-29’s that doesnt have proper RWR,Radar or Jamming Suites.
Modern Mig-29’s does have much better situational awareness compare to those old Ukraine Mig-29’s which increases your survivability quite a lot.
This is like comparing Mig-29 (9.13) to Mig-29SMT, see the difference?
Urakine Mig-29 fleet is on par with most Mig-29SMT, even the 9-12A/B batch from Slovak, Bulga, … received upgraded Radar to use R-77.

Why do you think modern jets care about being high and fast for optimum weapon release.

the F-15A was out years before the MiG-29 and was better when it went into service mate
Thats fair and yes if i was having a missile shot at me and i can fly mach 3.0 I would feel better about it.
If im 100 miles away and flying at mach 3.0 im even happier
Not all, Mig-29 in Ukraine kinda versertile, still has some footage it attached GBU to throw and shoot down some UAV but that’s all since they don’t have air dominance.
Different doctrines, Russia built a front line fighter to protect its border, US built an air supremacy fighter to project power
