Then I pointed out that according to the infallable book it had to be Russian due to it being a ‘su-17m4’. Now youve gone from it being french to russian. Its pretty obvious youve fallen into the trap of basing your stuff on one source
This book seems to be correct. I havent read it all yet obviously but ive seen that is correctly designates the offending photograph as a Su-22M4. Though it doessnt really give much more information, just stating the obvious like it has new navigation displays

Additionally I would look into the Su-22M4 WTD61 as they are test squadron, they might have tested interesting weapons
not weapons but some ECM pods etc. as well as something along the lines of RF signatures by using a HAWK SAM seeker mounted onto a Mi-24Ds turret
