I just recently researched the 9k317 BUK. Some games where I play it go alright, but about half of them are a complete disaster. Here’s how the disastrous games go: I spawn in and place my TELARS. I see that there’s a bunch of enemies up, so I go the radar screen. And then… I see 15+ enemy planes, helis, munitions, drones, and weird phantom rockets and planes that appear and disappear. The entries that appear and disappear make me unable to target what I want to target. The absolute flurry of munitions is impossible to sort through, and I get overwhelmed and die to a maverick, jagm, or any other missile. If I simply sorted out all the munitions, I would still end up dead. Basically I can’t keep up with the munition spam, and I die without doing anything. Am I missing something, or is this just how the top tier meta is?

it’s very easy to use what do you mean 😭
in the radar screen target the rockets / bombs first then the planes.
You only have 12 missiles in the BUK. And the radar displays enemy sams, air to air missile, etc. you can’t blindly rely on it.
You see, he’s the reason why they needed another spaa. Diabolical skill issue.
heavily relying on radar screen is a mistake to do. Its a nice feature but, its not going to be helpful when you are overwhelmed. Its easier to see what you are locking unto when viewing it like this and using the keybind, “Select Radar/IRST Target to lock on”, in my case is set to “Z” to switch targets.

It will make more sense when actually doing this in an actual game where there is a spam of missiles/bombs coming from 1 direction. Its gonna be weird and take a while to get used to. AESA radar helps a lot more as it marks every target in the air instead of single squares.
Don’t worry, no need to use the Buk after the next update.

And I finally just got the F-15E…
Filter only enemy planes and helicopters, uncheck ammunition and you’re mostly done with it. Just because you have two vehicles doesn’t mean you need to spawn the two launchers right away. Buk-M3 will work well early matches in long range engagements.
This apply for any multi-vehicle anti-air system: Don’t leave your radar vehicle in the spawn, this is a common place that airplanes search threats on. Leave the launcher behind a building and go away moving with the radar vehicle somewhere more safer.
It will help from overwhelming oneself, but that’s just asking to get hit by a missile with no effort to counter. Not really a fan of ammunitions detection being off. Rather die trying to defend myself and than not see it coming.

I have a feeling this guy’s gonna post a “Struggling in the Pantsir SM-SV”
and I’m sure the stream of people just insulting him instead of offering anything constructive will defiantly help him improve
Skill Issue
And you cant shoot down the incoming enemy munitons because…?

Only fire at targets with a positive velocity (V). Targets with a negative velocity are moving away from you, so they’re probably anti-aircraft missiles or something similar.
Always prioritize shooting the platform (the aircraft) first, and then its munitions if it has any.
Personally, I much prefer the radar interface. At a glance, you can see all the threats, making it much easier to prioritize attacks.
And obviously, as soon as you spawn your Telars, you give each of them a box of ammo.
Unneeded comment. He’s asking for advice and you’re putting him down.
