Storm Warning - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

just not bad or good, normal FNF. The laser one could be interesting.

tbf I get what Shay means, whenever a valid argument has been made that isnt adding LOAL its normally shot down as because A. “LOAL” or B. “but it can see through smoke.” Mode 2 isnt LOAL and the whole smoke thing can be easily negated by adding the chaff element to nato smoke grenades. I already hear the response, but not every nation has chaff in their smoke grenades and I will simply respond with a quote

and for brimstone, it has another problem, it can’t be controlled accurately. the radar will lock anything it want in it’s fov, and you don’t know what it locked and can’t change the missile’s lock.

in mode 2 the missile is slaved to the targeting pod and requires a lock before launch, it can change targets in flight if the target were to drive behind a dead tank for example, what you are saying is the LOAL or Mode 1 where it will lock onto the first target in its FOV

Don’t think it’s the lack of counterpart that’s the issue, it’s the lack of counterplay.

x18 Brimstones is already absolutely nuts if they’re being operated on the team which has Russia on it.

They don’t need any buffs until everyone gets better SAM’s.

but you still can’t know what it locked, it’s not optics seeker. you only know the radar locked something as I know.

again its slaved to the targeting pod and will lock onto the target you are looking at, assuming the missile can actually detect the target

this could and should have come with the tornado, I would be willing to be limited to hell 6-9 brimstons on the EFTs as well fo rgaijin to finally add its main feature instead of the mode that was added later in its life, not to mention the EFT never used brimstone 1s so they should be 2s at least anyway

no, the radar’s fov is much bigger, the TGP only provide the missile a direction, that’s how slave works. but in big fox, you can’t know what it locked in the end.

it can easily be simplified down for warthunder, its not like most systems in the game aren’t simplified anyway, hell the system we currently have for the AJ168 is completely made up

9 nations already have little to no counterplay against it operating in SAL mode.

We don’t need to make the game utter misery for everyone who plays those nations, solely to smite Pantsirs.

When everyone else gets their better SAM’s next year, then we can start discussing better modes. Until then, I cannot in good faith look an ADATS / ItO / Tan Sam / Machbet player in the eyes, and tell them it’s fair and balanced for them to face a buffed Brimmy - when they can already do nothing.

then the AGM65s and KH38s should be nerfed to their laser guided only version, I see no reason for those missiles that are faster and have more range to stay as FnF but its suddenly a massive issue if the uk gets its domestic FnF weapons

I agree.

In regards to the statement that adding weapons in a fictional way is not something they are interested in is wrong, Gaijin have already done this with the AJ 168 Martel so the idea that this cannot be done for brimstone is inconsistent at best.

I’m absolutely fine with widespread CAS nerfs whilst top tier AA is the abysmal state it is.

Preaching to the choir mate lol.

well you see that was a nerf compared to the system the AJ168 used this is a Buff and we know how gaijin is when it comes to the UK and their weapon systems

fair enough to bad most people have a double standard when it comes to the idea of nerfing all FnF AGMs to Laser guided only

Only a singular F-16D Block 30 Barack was used to test Rafael’s Derbys. And even then it’s unknown if it even tested anything other than the Derby. Getting the I-Derby would be lucky for it, and that planes not even ingame yet.

Quick little timeline:
IAF Got F-16C/D Block 30 Barack Is ~1986
IAF Gor F-16C/D Block 40 Barack IIs from ~1987
Somewhere in the mid* 1990s or later sometime around the Baz Meshupar program, they were all upgraded with Aim-120B compatibility, note that this came before any Derby integration. This is why they’re seen ingame.
Even later on down the line through the Barack 2020 program (despite its name, it occurred somewhere around 2010) which gave the aircraft Derby and I-Derby compatibility. I-Derby ER was also likely integrated once it was being produced.

I think the arguments I see Brit mains (And now GER / ITA mains) making for brimstone to be de-botched are reasonable in vacuum. And I think such things would be hugely beneficial, if not borderline necessary in modes like sim EC.

Just in ground. Man. I can’t mentally cope with anymore stand off F&F slingers lol. KH-38 is already horrific, but if nothing else, at least he ‘only’ gets to spacebar half the enemy team. Typhoon meanwhile could wipe the entire team and then some lol.

At that point, no point even having tank battle. We just say GG and award the victory at battle start to the team with more ‘Phoons in its lineups lol.

I assume it was meant to push its life span to the 2020s

Very likely, and the Block 30s even went beyond that as they were retired this very year. The Block 40s are still kicking too, wonder how long they’ll last.
