Mind providing some examples for Italy towards the Jet era? Genuinely interested, since as far as I know it was F-104 → F-16 → Tornado ADV → Typhoon
(Yes, G.91s, and the Caprioni Gas something something jet prototype)

F-2 now, CAS later.
That’s why I said instead of adding a whole sub-tree all they needed to add was a select 1-3 vehicles at mid-high tier and leave the top tier to F-2.
There was no need for the F-16A when it’s a different BR to the AJ so won’t replace it and no need for the Gripen which does the same thing the F-16A does?
But like I said, the thing I’m most “upset” about is the lack of communication regarding F-2 since AESA is being added on a fighter. That’s like THE thing people were holding the F-2 back with.
Sub-TT’s are only C&P and get 1 unique-ish vehicle.
Like BeNeLux with the Fokker G1.A, Finland with the T-55M and Hungary with the Zriny.
Turan exists also. And Csaba, if we really want pedantic. And technically Lynx, although some German will probably have my head if I push the point too hard.
Toldi’s too
The AESA radar doesnt really benefit the Rafale. MICA EM in the game is the worst missile for BVR and is only effective in close/medium range combat. My point is that even if you give an aircraft the best radar in the world, without good missiles to use with it - the advantages of that radar are mostly negated. Btw it hasnt been confirmed yet that it will have the AESA radar, in the game it currently has the RBE2 (not the RBE2-AA). Most of its features are not implemented yet, so its too early to judge
Alenia Aermacchi M346FT “Master”
AMX A11 T
Leonardo M346 FA (Preserie)
SIAI Marchetti S211 (Serie 0)
Is it? If anything it probably should have been released last update given their preformance. But given the 14.0 increase I think they are released probably in just the right time.
on implementation.
When it just arrived.
Still, more then 50% of Hungary its domestically build vehicles are in the premium, battlepass and event bracket.
Etajima dudes built differently
AESA won’t benefit the F-2 either because the way ARH missiles work with AESA.
ARH missiles are still PD and ignore the aircraft’s datalink once they go pitbull and find their target sub 16km whether that’s an aircraft or chaff. If the missile loses its lock, it will rely on inertial guidance and won’t use datalink again.
This means for all intents and purposes, an aircraft’s radar doesn’t matter too much past the current PD radars we have as they have similar scan rates. This is something we’ve been saying and Gaijin has only reinforced it with their stance on P/AESA radars.
The Rafale will indeed show that AESA doesn’t matter and as a result nothing stopping them from adding F-2 anymore.

The bug report to change the name to RBE2-AA was accepted
Italy lacks in supersonic stuff, but has a lot of subsonic jets (especially advanced trainers/attackers).
Here is my potential full Italian TT (it also includes Romanian and Hungarian stuff):
PS in terms of replacing F-104 with Typhoon, the sequence was this: F-104S → F-104S.ASA ‐> F-104S.ASA-M → Tornado ADV → F-16ADF → F-2000A
I’m literally holding out for the Su-30SM, like the moment it releases, I’m downloading the patch ASAP, GE’ing the plane, the crew, and probably half the equipment. It’s literally the only plane I’ve wanted to play since I started playing again almost three years ago. I totally get what you mean about wanting the F-2A.
Very true.
I don’t know Japan well enough. What could you put at about 9.7-11.0 that gives you some decent guided weaponry?
Ah. I see. Well, as you know, the C&P is easy because in many cases it’s just a reskin, F-2 is a different, albeit similar model to the F-16’s.
I feel the same about the Su-30SM. Some say TVC is too good, most just say Gaijin needs time to make it work. Either way, they could’ve just added some cheesy animations to the nozzles, artificially juiced up the FM for a patch or two and then done a “rework” down the line.
That’s what Gaijin has said, especially in relaying the reasons for the patch when people ask about why not this or why that? etc. that we’ve seen in the discourse since the trailer.
Cheers for the correction on the progression bits. But yeah, I thought Italy definitely had some domestic bits going, wouldn’t have made sense for them to have pulled their weight in the G.91 project and then twiddke their thumbs between developing the Tornado and Typhoon.
I was hoping they’d add that this update for y’all!
At the very least it’s leaked by Olivia so next update most likely. I just wish Japan had some kind of reassurance like that. When the leakers have zero info it’s a bit worrying for sure
Stuff like the T-1A/B and P-1
I will feast on the enjoyment of the Su-30SM no matter what comes, but I will be an honorary bitter Japanese main until they give y’all the F-2, the delay is getting silly tbh.
All we can really rest on is they’ve made solid moves to keep you guys viable, even if slow and somewhat small. Type 81(c), F-16AJ, Thai subtree… they are trying. At the end of the day, Gaijin runs on Western wallets, and even if you’re a Westerner like I am, a premium F-1X or M1 Abrams for Gaijin makes them plenty more cash than a faithful rendition of TT vehicle for a less interesting (for the masses) nation like Japan.
There were some interesting projects like to make a VTOL from G.91, the plane was called G.95.
Another cool idea which was dropped probably because of US influence is Leone, a sad story:
PS it’s also very sad that Romanian IAR-95 wasn’t made.
I’d rather have the F-2 now and Thailand, whenever later
