Im suprised Taiwan hasnt gotten the F-5 2000 yet then again they might get it when Japan inevitably gets the F-5TH Super Tigris
Those would’ve been super cool. I would’ve been super excited for them instead of… y’know, 8 planes I’ve already flown or have unlocked in other trees.
And the Gripen that I’m nowhere near in other trees, but… eh.
Wish it was various SEA planes spread across the topish tiers instead of what we’re getting. Now I’m afraid we’ll be lucky to see any unique planes, Japanese or otherwise in the TT again. Barring maybe the F-2.
At least we get a fairly unique Alpha Jet I suppose
Yeah, playing China was one of my most fun things in this game!
Its the TT i enjoyed the most! (Sorry Japan, Gaijin just hates to give you actual decent and usable content).
Yet, their air was fun until 5.0 and then sucked at 5.3-7.0 then 7.3 was nice and then C&P AGAIN.

And North-Korean planes?
I’m going to ruffle feathers, but the F-5 does nothing for me either. I’m really just hoping the ASEAN tree lands an Indonesian F-15 into Chinese aviation tbh. I want to SPAMRAAM and boom and zoom people in unburdened FM’s, unlike my poor Flankers.
That would be C&P my brother. XD
Some yeah, but their camo’s are nice and they also have LOTS AND LOTS of highly modified stuff.
Not only for longer, I bet that if you ask people that play Japan to choose between the F-2A and the Thai vehicles we just got, most will choose the F-2A.
I could probably hazard a guess that most people who picked the Japanese line wanted Japanese vehicles primarily and will merely accept sub-tree vehicles from other nations as fluff later or to fill gaps.
That being said, again there was no need to put a full Thai line when only select few vehicles were needed to plug certain gaps. Again did we really need the Thai Gripen or F-16A at top tier? They don’t replace the AJ. They don’t fill certain gaps as the F-2, a domestic option, already exists.
When domestic options are skipped for sub-trees, it tells me that sub-trees were a mistake and only reinforces my concerns early in the year when I said asking for a sub-tree is asking for C&P.
At least UK folk can actually have a conversation with Gaijin about it…
The F-2 that would be added uses the same armament found on the F-15J(M). Actually less as they can only carry a maximum of 6 radar missiles while the F-15J(M) can carry 8. All while having half the countermeasures.
I’m gonna be honest, do you even know what the F-2 is capable of? Because y’all are fearmongering on a potentially DoA aircraft.
Weren’t you also the person who said the F-2 should come with EFT and Rafale?
We can only hope but you know what they say, hope is a dangerous thing.
I just want some communication because AESA was one of the biggest reasons we didn’t get F-2 earlier as it’s only Gen 4.5 because of AESA. Yet an AESA fighter in the form of Rafale is added and nobody bats an eye? Seems like double standards.
To be fair, again the F-2 covers that.
Yea but that’s also up to Gaijin to prioritize right? We know they have these models already done sometimes half a year in advance.
That’s not a bad comparison. Imagine the UK’s fury when they could have an EFT now but have to wait because they already have the Gripen C. That’s pretty much how Japan mains feel.
That’s something that’s surprisingly hard to get people to understand. We are playing the Japanese tech tree and want Japanese vehicles and one of the crowning aircraft for Japan is the F-2.
That’s what I’m referring to about communication. It has consistently been a different answer to the other aircraft being asked which is what I’m worried about.
MiG-29 9.12 with KH-29’s and R-77’s, with the right BR, sign me up, lmao.
Probably still has a better power-to-weight ratio lmao
Okay. Crazy thought you two, but what would you rather have, CAS fills out the BR’s, and you get a Gripen which can do most of the CAS the F-2 could (I’m pretty sure, but I’m sure you’ll inform me). Or just the F-2?
Like would you rather have the F-2 now, and have to wait another 6-12 months for the Thai subtree, or get the a start on the tree now, and get the F-2 in the next 3-6 months.
At top tier. Mid tier Japan needs CAS, I don’t even play Japan and I know that.
Edit: I’m not gonna lie, if I’m a Japan main right now, I’m getting hot and bothered over a Type 16 and Thai A-7 lineup.
Highly doubt it the TWR of the 18C is quite decent
Can I also say that I’m not upset or anything that they’re adding EFT and AESA Rafale or anything. I’m genuinely happy for everyone getting their stuff.
All I’m asking is when to expect our stuff. At least now with the Rafale there’s nothing the F-2 doesn’t have that’s not already in the game regarding avionics or weaponry.
I’m going to point out an observation.
The number of C&P and “X doesn’t have enough” had a sharp uprise post Israel.
The C&P issues and whatnot trace their origins to the community getting Gaijin to label Israel as a failure and in turn new TTs(which led to the sharp decline of unique stuff as they no longer need to fill out at least 3-4 lines unlike 1 line(or less) for sub-trees)
So remember next time you say Israel shouldn’t have been added, that’s how we got here for the C&P.
(Ya, ya correlation is not causation and what not)
Not just that, but people who haven’t played Japan or who are just at 6.3, telling what is needed…
Since Japan came it in 2016, i’ve been a full Japan main.
I know what it needs, it needs more domestic vehicles, more WWII vehicles, some actual domestic stuff and a unique sub-TT.
WHY?? Because people are not incentiviced to play Japan. If a nation looks that lack-luster for over 8 years now, ofcourse no one is going to play it.
Same goes for Italy, Israël and China.
Why would anyone like to play these nations? It’s full of C&P while having literally over 200 possible domestic addition per nation.
Can’t US get super tiger too?
Just the F-2A. Most definitely. Its my most favorite aircraft. Also waiting 6-12 more months for the sub-tree would have been better as it could have been more refined (Actually using the Thai upgrades). Also what about all the other domestic planes that can fill the caps the Thai planes are now filling?
It takes 50 ish seconds to get the shells to the ready room and 35s to operate the elevator. Tbf should just be 35s.
Even still thats rough especially when compared to Amagi and Mutsu’s reload
