The only thing I regret is that the mig 29 has never been sold to China. They are already making WS-13 engines for J-31 based on RD-93 (JF-17 engine based on RD-33). I think they would have been able to bring the plane to life. Although this is probably for the best, if they had a mig 29, they would hardly have made a j-10.
The M4K was also only a prototype, there is no reason Gaijin couldn’t give it MICA if they wanted, but I imagine they want to keep it at its current BR so won’t.
Because there definitely is a need for HARMs, especially for the side that has the single best SPAA/SAM in the game
If you think you’re getting anything more than R-33s and R-73s and MAYBE R-77s on the MiG-31 that is tragic.
It would still be near unplayable because of anything is fired at you than you’re done for
I would argue that the Flanker ended up being more valuable. It has great range which is ideal for patrols, and the radome is large.
I want to introduce you to the concept of time:
The M4K was cancelled in 1988
The MICA was commissioned in 1996
You tell me if that’s possible
I mean, anti radar missiles are not a thing they can only add to their own nation like they got away with with spall liners.
Why are you getting so offended at the mere suggestion of a MiG-31? I’ve only stated its potential weapon loadouts to correct your own statement of 8G SARH missile bus.
Yes never thought of this, you are giving me hope that it may come to the tech tree.
They already have somewhat done it to the Su-22M4 in german tree too.
China produces the j-10 in large quantities, a direct competitor to the Mig 29. Although it is possible that they simply did not see the prospects in the Mig 29, or were unlucky with the political situation when they developed the j-10, China was already at odds with the USSR
I’m not even remotely offended, I’m telling you it would be unplayable and the R-37 would not have a chance of appearing on it. Especially now.
I really dont care. I like heavy bombers too.
The MICA wasn’t developed overnight
I don’t actually think it carried mockups or anything in its lifetime, but for the sake of comparison it makes sense
It was canceled, the whole thing is a what if
The first one says 27TE, the second one says 27(E)R
Trails began in 1991, still not possible.
Fair, but SPAAs and SAMs should catch up first before CAS gets more tools to destroy said SPAAs and SAMs
Strategic Bombers when?
Once again they didn’t just throw together a missile in less than 3 years and start trialing it
It very much existed, a whole lot more than the R-27EA ever did
336 flights ≠ What if
