At this point if we don’t get it now, then it should come with HMD and AAM-5 just to be competitive with later Typhoon/Rafale/etc variants

we couldve had some reasonable progression, but at this rate a pretty big jump in capabilities will be necessary

I wish not to continue this argument any further.
So the view of one person on this forum = what everyone thinks?
Have a good day, at the end of the day we can’t do much about what Gaijin will do.

  1. For some reason I cant see ANY of your messages in that thread
    but
  2. After reading it, I was right to assume that was a no-context cherrypicked screenshot. Because the person in that screenshot fully advocated that Japan does need help, they just dont need the entire ASEAN tree (which multiple people agreed with) and that at most China would only need help with ground because the ZTZ99A is underperforming (due to a combination of limited info, and gaijin negligence)

As a borderline radar illiterate person, do PESA / AESA represent some sort of fundamental change in how we will do BVR? Or is it just going to be the same as we do now, just with much quicker / reliable acquisition & locking ?

their ability to retain lock and track targets for the missiles via DL should be substantially more accurate

in current ARH meta, it wont be matter as much since once the missiles typical PD radar activates, you lose AESA advantages.

it will just have overall better performance in every aspect though, ability to REALLY multitask (hard lock on more than 1 target at once), to the point of doing a2g and a2a at same time

harder to counter aswell, generally more resistant to ECM and CM, harder to notch too iirc

It’s worth noting that Singapore is the only country in ASEAN that has significant influence over China and the is officially friendly, while Vietnam and Myanmar are relatively hostile, and China’s relations with both have been so bad over the past few years that adding Myanmar and Vietnam as complements would not be a good idea

Typhoon & Rafale 14.0 or 13.7 br?

issue is, Singapore largely uses US equipment, which would make it a better option for Japan/US

14.0 probably

that argument will never not be dumb tbh. Because well… Taiwan is already in China… with exclusively US equipment…

Alright, can we move on already?

14.0 likely with the F-15C/Es moving up to join them. Similar to what we saw with the Gripen being added and the F-16C moving up as well

ultimately sim battles is already doomed so I think we can stop worrying about “but the original producer of the equipment was “X” so”

If the nation can fit in, then just throw them in

still makes far more sense for USA/japan since it more military ties to US than China

In the opposite direction, it’s also very good to complement, Western weapons going into countries that are not in the Western sphere of influence, you can’t expect to get something similar and duplicated as a complement, and we have very many case studies proving that, for example, Hungary and Germany getting Soviet weapons, and Taiwan. It’s not a political game.

Likewise, I’m looking forward to Japan getting non-Western weapons like the T84 and VT4, which would be great additions, rather than more of the same joining in, like the British getting the T90s

15E goes up 15C stays. the 15E all but killed the 15Cs ability to climb and BVR. They’re so much slower.

Id still argue the F-15C is under-BRed and just steam rolls 12.7s and even most 13.0s too easily. Perhaps Typhoon, Rafale, F-15E 14.3. Then F-15C, Su-27SM, Gripen C to 14.0
