Don’t some nations license produce the F-35? For example Japans F-35A is built locally by Mitsubishi

i dont rlly believe what you say, but it wouldnt be impossible because the whole factory is usually built by the nation providing the vehicle, like how there are multiple EU armored transporters factories made in different countries that want to have a supply of such vehicles, the machining and such is invented by the americans nonetheless

The F-22s new radar is not better than the F-35

its ashame that the Cessna OA-37B Dragonfly, Beechcraft AT-6TH Wolverine, Aero L-39 Albatros, North American T-28 Trojan and North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco will come as premiums/event/battlepass vehicles.

I’m happy Japan gets some help, but its ashame that the unique stuff will be behind a paywall, just like all sub-TT’s.

My main reason for liking/disliking sub-TT’s.
PRO - sub-TT help with gaps,
CON - Gaijin doesnt care about different playstyles, they just want people to play the same thing over and over again and pay for a different playing experience. Same reason why we have the same gamemodes for 11 years now.

It’s only parts though, no? The manufacturing capabilities were also exported

That was kind of my point, now that there is war in Europe there will be higher defense spending and Europe will produce two 6th gen fighters alongside the US’s NGAD.

Also, China is always just catching up in terms of manufacturing and technology and will eventually be just as capable of producing advanced technology, and before you refute that, there was a time when “Made in Japan” was a sign of poor quality yet now those same words mean you’re getting about as high a quality product as is possible. “Made in China” will not always mean cheap and bad

Considerably larger and more powerful, iirc upgraded with newer gen T/R modules from F-35 radar

does it though? the F-35 is about 1/3rd the cost to buy and 40% cost of maintenance

yh thats what im saying, i didnt know about what he said, but it wouldnt be impossible for the japanese to get the machining needed, nobody said that only americans can put american jets together and japan ordered f35 too and they are an ally that basically pledged to the F35 program while probably promising to not invent a jet of their own for competition against F35 etc

Japan are part of the GCAP program to produce a 6th gen fighter with Italy and the UK

Are there any plans to buff BOL pods…currently they are worthless I shouldn’t have to drop 50+ chaff in the hope an Aim120 will ignore me

idrk what u tryna say but F35 has basically more finished tech from f22 so thats why its less expensive + actually less money hungry for maintenance and it also has CAS capabilities and such

ok so, UK and italy are NATO members so thats not a problem necessarily it depends, but every country that buys f35 should be invested into the f35 program

Could you send me some info on the new sensor upgrades? Im looking through some DoD documents and can only find the integration of Link 16 with the current radar

If not when I get home Ill use my cac to check if there are any DoD sources I can readily find (no I will not share them)

everyone knows that f35 has the best sensors and such, thats literally the whole advertising made for it

Yes, I think so. It’s the final assembly and quality assessment iirc

But Japan is not completely foreign to their own manufacture of 5th generation aircraft, with their F-X program leading to a flying demonstrator aircraft, various prototyped components for final aircraft and ultimately a transition to a 6th gen project later merged with GCAP

I don’t believe there was any agreement like this. Nor is there any need for one as there would be no hope for exports against the F-35 and japan’s defence budget isn’t large enough to fully fund a 5th gen plane on its own
