The F-35 isn’t equal to the F-22 in a dogfight though, with thrust vectoring and a higher thrust to weight and higher wing area the F-22 just wins in a dogfight

You are underestimating the NEZ of modern missiles. Even at a range where going cold won’t save you you are still not in visual range.

It’s not even T/W, the F-35 has the single better engine but the F-22s two engines overall provide more thrust by a long way
ur analysis of thrust to weight i believe to be wrong and they both have incredibly good thrust vectoring, none of them will ever be the clear winner while also no fight will be fair, it depends on situation but most of the times you would just go on someones six so easily

The thrust/weight is roughly known, and while the F-35s engine can produce 190kN of thrust afterburning the F-22s engines combine for 320kN, and whilst the weight of the F-22 is higher, its wings are also much, much bigger so lift/weight is also in favour of the F-22

the F-22 doesn’t have HMD so it has to get the nose on target first to lock on with AIM-9X but F-35 can fire 9X high off bore-sight first because it has HMD

The F-22 will almost certainly have an HMD in game, there will be too many people complaining otherwise

And you are overestimating missile performance and future gameplay in WT. Modern missiles will still fail against ground clutter/notching/going cold because WT is a game and game needs to be balanced. Add to that ECM that Gaijin is working on and here you go

I know you meant that ironic. Especially in WT guns, or other dogfighting tools are important. Entire kill chains of large scale modern warfare are missing so you end up dueling a lot.

The F-15C for Israel didn’t have a HMD on release, the devs were adamant it couldn’t have one and then enough people complained and look at it now
I mean, I hope they are working on ECM, but the Q&A said ESM, which is a bit different
