I also find a lot of the maps (normandy comes to mind) that has FAR better cover throughout the map now. There are more “dead zones” to sit in to use to move around, less giant open useless death fields. I am not claiming every map was changed positively in this regard, but many were.

Do War Thunders mechanics prevent separate maps for top tier and low tier? I think this is the question that needs to be asked directly tot he Devs.
Why are all the Eras using the same maps? 12 years on same old basic issue.

This is just beyond stupid. In the “NEW” map (min 3:09) add empty mall where tanks can hide and fight inside. I cant wait how legion of new players just ignore the 90% of the map for do the idiot inside the mall.
Really in Gaijin think this is a good example of maps for tanks battles???
Can we please revisit this? The maps are getting boring and one way. I get that some people just want to be in and done, but that’s boring to the rest of us. Some of us like to think and take a different approach. The maps are really starting to suck.
Fighting inside a mall sounds super fun. Eastern Europe is tied for my favourite map, and per the devblog for this one, this is the actual overall community’s sentiment as well.

LOL… I’ve stopped playing Air Arcade for now as I prefer bombers and Gaijin won’t let me filter out the domination mode - which neuters bombers.
I’ve swapped entirely to playing Air Sim specifically so that I can have a better gamemode for Mud Movers
Never tried Air Sim.
Did some Air RB, and it was interesting. But my issue there was, after my bomber dropped it’s load, it took so long to get back to base and re-arm, the battle often ended before I was back in enemy territory. The need to fly at 5000m to avoid enemy fighters meant I would never have time for 2 drops.
Sim you still need to RTB to rearm, but the maps are 128km x 128km and matches can last 2 hours (though you can come and go as you please). So you actually have room to play a bomber properly. You also always have a bombing target in form of the Airfields, as well as bases and other PvE targets like naval targets and convoys

İts lazy design no doubt but at least they’re bein honest about it(which is something rare tbh).

That’s true. If you ask me i would put more effort into this new design. The current concept rework with :
- firstly: remove every hills and create the landscape as smooth and create a lowland.
- Secondly: remove all bridge
- and lastly: replace the river with Hightway.
This will create more opportunities and new map, than this copy paste map concept. That was how i see it. What do you think? ;)
Those are Good ideas but as we know when it comes to making sophisticated map designs Gaijin isnt the best(considering they even nerfed some of the best maps).
oh and on some variations you can’t flank hard to the east or sit on the south west corner of the map sniping…
they really want this game to turn into a 30 second a round FPS.
