I just find that HE turns most aircraft into confetti no matter what, its rare to be in a situation where AP is truly necessary, so I usually favour air targets or stealth. Granted, im typically using larger shells than 20mm, but also guns with lower RoF

especially AP/API, APHE is pretty nice sometimes like with ariete belts, i like default for the mix of APHE and HEIT instead of just one or the other
Yeah, APHE is nice on the 27mm.
AP is only good when hitting a weakspot. and if OP is having issues hitting the aircraft, let alone hitting weakspots… its a… choice
Now when more aircraft get more detailed damage models, the AP should being effectively buffed, but a lot at and around that BR havent been yet

you cant use this match as a reason to not use air target belts, though i mean ultimately the difference between 1:1 and 3:2 isnt exactly much so it probably wont really be noticable
not my fault that people who can go mach 1.4, climb 7km in half a minute and come down slinging undefeatable missiles prefer to tunnelvision onto other enemies and stall themselves out.
People who also say that the zero doesn’t belong at 5.7 will come with high kill games too to prove they’re not bad players.
my conclusion from all this is that he’s really good at front and rear aspect shots and pretty bad at sideaspect/tangential shots

Either f-5c goes down without flares or missiles or the j7d goes up or the pi li 5 gets a nerf. Both planes are cancer, but at least these planes that have no flares facing the f-5s can run away from them and dodge their missiles.
in fairness sideaspect/tangential are pretty challenging shots especially at range, i remember one time I absolutely sniped a guy with DEFAs or some 30mm i dont remember at like 1.4km fully tangentially and its still like the best shot ill ever make

What makes it better
oh yeah the j7d is better than the f5c, but its a compression issue i dunno if its really on par with the current 11.0s, but with decompression it could totally go up, same issue with nf5a
and to be entirely honest considering the f5c (and the thai and american f5a) already gets the flarepods idk why it doesnt get the aim9p/j like the chinese f5a and the nf-5a

According to this guy the j8b is like a mig21 bis on steroids but i keep seeing them floating around after a single turn, not even Defyn likes the plane especially because it’s according to him like a worse kfir c7 with better aim9g’s
well its just kinda not as good as the mig21bis, mostly cause of the worse engine as the 6x r60m vs 4 pl5bs balances out quite well imo (as having all aspect missiles simply allows for a lot more firing solutions)
i did say i dunno if its really on par to be fair to me, its better than the f104Gs at 11.0 definitely, especially the italian one, but from what ive seen of a few of my friends do in the F4F its slightly worse than that too
It’s barely worse in FM, still being a highly upgraded 21 with good t/w, and having sidegrade missiles just in lower count. If you compare it to other 11.0s that aren’t the 21bis you find the FM is more than capable, and even against that jet the better pilot is still going to win since they are close enough.

true, yeah it was always weird that it went down because it and i think the j35xs or kfir canard (i dont remember which one) both went down in the same minor patch like a month or two after a routine BR changes
not a coincidence a bunch of premium jets happened to drop in BR
