They can also be wildly outdated if you haven’t played a vehicle for a while, or played it a lot when you weren’t as good.
yeah and? my post was about it’s been worked on, neither need of such, nor what kind it would be cause there’s no info. I didn’t see any mention of WIP
No but I want to know where to aim my effort.
I play the same effort. I just dont want to focus said effort on map areas where it is not needed.
I respect your answer even if i disagree, mostly because I dont think that such overlay would lead to increase in toxicity and one death leaving. It might lead to SOME but not that it would be a wide scale problem.
Lmao, problem solved without me lifting a finger.
100%. Sometimes I go back and try fix the stats of vehicles from when I first started. Others are less reliable because the stats may have been when a vehicle was under or over BR’d. Or game mechanics may have changed since you’ve played a vehicle - for example, when I played Type 69, the laser rangefinder didn’t work as we know it today. I actually only really worry about sometimes stats on this forum, lol. If you come on here and ask for a vehicle to be nerfed while never playing that vehicle or nation, I’ll call you out.
Respectfully, nothing was “solved” with that. That post says nothing about ingame active player stat comparisons. What that post addresses, and what many are talking about here, are not the same.
The XvM comparison; XvM literally stat-shames all the players in a match, even with good and bad color coding, and even tells each team their “chance” to win. It made WoT incredibly toxic. That’s what some of us don’t want here.
An overlay that just shows mechanics stuff is neither here nor there. If people want that, then great for them. No skin off my back.
Im under impression that aforementioned overlay could be what this post is talking about; if not its overlay nonetheless and implementing another function to it shouldnt be an issue and could be suggested to statshark team.
Statistics and data dont lie, people do. Thats the simple truth.
As I mentioned in one of the previous comments, there is a genuine discussion to be had whenever things like assists should show up in service record. But, for the most part, person can claim to be the no.1 Tiger player in the world but if his service record shows he has 1 kill to 500 deaths in it, hes lying and you dont need to construct a complex argument to prove him wrong.
I think liars are just as much if not more toxic on the long term than people who “statshame” when it is not needed. The whole reason for swrvice record existing is that it cant be falsified. sure it can be stat padded but then there is question to be had how often that happens and if it can be proven (which, again, if someone is stat padding by sealclubbing new players, will be displayed on his service record).
Before anyone grabs their pitchfork, this is speaking generally, not addressing someone specifically.
Sure but such overlay, even if it had function similiar to XVM, would still be entirely optional.
I expounded upon my post while you replied.
Change is in the air… something big is coming… and it cannot be stopped…
Edited my comment so id advise to delete these so that the topic stays clean.
This could technically be done but you would be breaking some rules. You can’t use things rendered on the screen for overlays.
Usernames or player ids in your games are not exported on the ingame webserver so you can’t get them.
You can already check this where it matters. Why are you having ‘complex arguments’ ingame when you should be focusing on the battle? What am I missing here.
Sweet.
Respectfully I never said im having complex arguments in game.
I said I want such overlay to know how I should focus my effort in game.
If they implement this I’d only want them to show it for your own team, not the enemy. Having to read the battle is all part of the fun. I figure this is how they would implement it, as that’s what they’ve done with lineups (you can see yours but enemy lineups remain a mystery during the battle).
That is perfectly fine and indeed you have a point with figuring out the enemy.
Its just that, again, I never said id be using it to have complex arguments in the game as you somehow implied.
For clarity, you said it would prevent the need for complex arguments - which you shouldn’t be having ingame, regardless. You can already fact check people making such claims on the forum, without an overlay, but ingame? A guy can tell me he is the #1 of anything and it’d mean nothing, I’ll soon see how he goes in battle. Anyway, if it is just restricted to your own team then I am neutral on this. It would be more realistic to know whether your allied forces are green units or more experienced reliable ones, which you can then plan around.
I think its important to include the sentence in front of this oaragraph. This wasnt said in relation to the ingame overlay but to the data itself.
Indeed but I like your point of figuring out the enemy more.
Yeah, I cherry picked that without reading anything around it. I’m out and about on my phone right now, so apologies.
