I think stabilizers should be moved to a separate modification instead of being available by default. This would give players something meaningful to grind for and create a greater sense of pride and accomplishment when they finally unlock the ability to stabilize their gun. Naturally, this should be a tier 3-4 unlock
Why can my crew find a half broken Leopard2 in a shed that doesn’t have spare parts or thermals yet has a functioning gun stabilizer?
I don’t know if this topic is serious or just a rage bait, but it doesn’t even make sense for the stabilizer to be a researchable feature because it’s a basic component of tanks, a Leopard 2A7 comes standard with a stabilizer right out of the factory.
There is no official explanation or lore behind it. Some people claim the “salvage” bit is lore from back in beta but I’ve never found any evidence to back it up, it seems it was just a rumour from before open beta that people eventually just started treating as fact.
Neither the development part nor the salvage part make sense anyway, what’s the Watsonian explanation for the BR system? Why did we build a replica of Cologne’s city centre to shoot it up? Even more worrying if it’s the real city, why tf are we fighting there and who’s fighting who? Etc etc
Even if you pretend we’re all playing tank paintball in purposefully built arenas, the research system still makes no sense (how many times do you have to “develop” APHE rounds for the same gun in different tanks?)
It’s just a mechanic to regulate player progression, nothing more.
