Spirit of the Tempest: HF-24 Marut

Neat ! so far im decided on grinding it and hell, maybe even playing it if they ever find cure for my aim with subsonic jets.

not even near, its incapable of getting kills quickly, its realm is high speed, energy draining action, which is hard to do with MiG-17s and MiG-17PFs around, and it has no instant pull, with limited AoA so gunshots are harder to work for, it also has poor low speed manoeuvrability and poor energy generation

the Marut has instant Pull, Better energy generation, same guns, and due to the quicker pull it can get kills faster, although still being rather poor at the lower speeds you should never really get to if you play it properly

It also has Rockets you can bring as makeshift flares for the inevitable uptiers into high power AAMs

The Alpha Jet has countermeasures and ballistic computer at 9.0 GRB. The Marut should be 8.3 or 8.7 in ground realistic battles.

please, no 9.0 - that’s nonsense

compare IAR93 and this plane
the first one has:

  • 4(!) air-to-air missiles, though early, but not bad
  • not bad gun, which is on planes with BR 11.0
  • not bad maneuverability
  • good air brakes
  • SPO with capture detection
  • afterburner

the second one DOESN’T HAVE ALL OF THIS

think again please
how did the GD put all this together??

The last aircraft designed by nazi germany

And just bare in mind…it’s outperforms the hunter F1 which has been 9.0 for years.

Welcome to Britain tax

I don’t know
I think that UK has good jets: Scimitar, Javelin, Hunter F6, Sea Hawk, Sea Venom, Swift F1
Jaguar gr1 not bad on himself br
I still didn’t fly on Lightning, I know that many pilots scold it, but I saw pilots who did really good work on it

Well, javelin for example. I don’t think has ever been all that good, but recently got nerfed and still hasn’t shifted BR

You mean the Fuel Pump “Nerf”?

It Barely changed a thing flying it

Its got buffed in the last year or so, the change to an all flying tail really helped it, that and it getting its 4x missile 4x gun loadout back

Its one of the most fun jets to fly in RB imo and it does surprisingly well, i like it, even if its highly unconventional, and requires thought to not get hit (the damage model is so bad)

I agreed with Master_Teaz , it’s really fun
I started fly on it just in this year, now I get 66 battles and 109 destroyed air targets
Sometimes I did 4, 5 kills in one battle with it

Yeah,
for me I’m 124 kills to 54 deaths in 69 matches,

Last time i played it back in late Jan/ Early Feb i was getting consistent 3/4 kill games in it

Noone expects you to dogfight in it, and it throws people off when you use its extremely low stall speed and great engines.

not to mention the ADENs are a lot better on the Javelin than any other plane in headon due to the size of the Jav making them extremely inaccurate, but still with enough lead downrange to make it like a shotgun, not like you’re short of ammo either

The IAR also has terrible acceleration, and pretty poor energy retention if it wants to turn well.

If it’s better than the Hunter F1, then 9.0 will be perfect for it.

Well, it’s AB doesn’t work at low alt now, so what was already a very slow, and slow accelerating jet is now even slower

Well I made a thread specifically about the GRB BR for the plane

Over where it might be more likely to be seen if chaps want to discuss there ^^

I didn’t notice any major change when the fuel pump nerf came out

and it’s not like the Javelin has pathetic acceleration, quite nice acceleration even,
even without Burner its Engines are still hella powerful, and redlines on mil power

and besides if you shouldn’t be on the deck with it, its got an amasing rate of climb

from Runway to 500mph at sea level (at realistic combat loads)
the Jav (W/ max fuel and all missiles + guns) goes from Runway to 500mph in: 1:11
F-86F-25 (W/13m fuel, No secondaries) takes: 1:28
MiG-15Bis (W/ 13 min fuel, no secondaries) takes: 1:09
Swift F.1 (13m Fuel, no secondaries) takes: 1:18

It’s one of the better 8.3s for acceleration, even post-nerf, it’s rip speed is the issue on the deck, not acceleration

Can we have a poll at the top of the thread asking the community their views on the planes ground forces BR seeing as we cant have an independent thread about the plane, but have to use this thread about the plane coming as an event, even though we have multiple threads in that section about vehicles in the game some of which have had their own event/devblog threads here?

Example found there.

Genuinely do not understand why that thread was locked in all honesty. It was about a very specific issue with the vehicle (and game in general) and as I said, you have multiple threads on vehicles which have devblogs which dont get locked all the time. I made it there to bring in a larger playerbase discussion as sadly, it does feel like this area is ignored more often then not outside of very specific hype vehicles.

I think it should be 8.7 unless the supposed airspawn ends up making it good. All 9.0 planes these days have missiles, afterburners helping with acceleration, or even both. For example g91y, and the 3 US planes that carry 4 missiles and have afterburners.
Sure those planes should be be 9.3 but I don’t this plane would be some monster at 8.7. 8.7 greatly reduces the odds of fighting the harriers/t2 and would make it a much better experience.

Also, why didn’t we get the afterburning version of the plane in game? Wikipedia says there was a variant with it. We’ll probably never get that variant in game now

Rookie mistake, stat cards tells you nothing useful, use StatShark - See All Player, Missile, and Vehicle Statistics for that, for what i can see it accelerates faster, but thats about it, worse energy retention, worse AoA, worse rate, no missiles…

Hunter F1 has no secondaries at all, No missiles, no rockets and no bombs

Uh yeah, i mixed it with the F.6, still worse at everything but acceleration
