That largely doesn’t change. You should really get used to using aircraft as SPAA.

I’m so confused at how you can say this but have 2 10.0+ SPAA that you are quite successful in against aircraft.
i think The issue isnt necessarily SPAA, but helicopters… They should NOT have that capability… even if its realistic… People cannot even respond to it… and the missiles are basically silent… So if you are duking it out with 2 or 3 other tanks… youre just… a free kill…
It should be Removed from the game and NOT allowed to happen (ridiculously long range missiles from helicopters)
SPAA are fantastic if your enemies are suffering from WT brainrot and aren’t paying attention or being evasive.
If they reveal they can find a mere two braincells to rub together, you’re basically useless, and aircraft are once again the top counter to other aircraft.
I mentioned it before, pre missile movement nerfs, now they are very bad against aircraft. While they arent unusable(some are) they arent reliable for killing CAS anymore. Which is why i play planes more often
Type 93 missiles casually missing a target flying in a straight line or target is 7 km out and every other missile spaa cant sontrol their missile past 6 km and it misses.
And even when they hit, those Type 91s are gonna go “Hit” and do fuck all.
At least the Type 81 doesn’t take prisoners. I can only complain about the lack of a radar.
Helis are a problem but not like CAS is, i dont think you should be able to rearm aircraft without a ton of SP personally. I get four kills in my plane land at airfield rinse repeat until we win.
Targets at close range pose a problem tho, cause flying on the deck negates those missiles in my experience. Also cant lock heli unless within 2km sometimes lmao 11.3 worthy my ass
Early Heli pilot’s couldn’t find an evasive maneuver if it bit them in the ass most of the time. Most of the time I can hit a plane coming in for an attack with my all aspects at 9.3. Su-25s are easier to kill with the M247 though cause it isn’t flared and people don’t carry chaff much.
Check my heli stats, non missile helis are easier to kill than helis with missiles.
i agree… mostly. Still planes cant Hover and then sit somewhere 10 KM off and shoot missiles and wreck people.
But yes… CAS is and Has been Ridiculously OP for years… and needs to be nerfed in basically Every way

Do you or @PercussionCap know the reasoning behind the 2km max all aspect lock for helis? It’s a pain even for planes to lock IR on the early ones too. Same with the Heli ir missiles, usually easier to gun down another heli at 11.3 than launch a missile at them.
I havent died to a heli with missiles unless its an aim 9m or ty90 so no not often. Besides when i do hunt helis im using a plane with aim 9bs and no flares. I also had for 2 years no targeting computer and only stealth belts with garbage accuracy against helis.
Yeah, if they’re flying low enough the contrast lock is literally useless. Luckily for me, they often just start climbing up and become really easy targets.
And against planes, they’re insanely good, much better than Rolands (when they lock or don’t overlead into the ground). And they lack the weird control issues that all SACLOS missiles do now.
IR signature is based off of engine thrust. Tomcats are really hot with their huge engines, F-5Cs with their small engines are quite cold. Heli turbines are tiny in comparison, and thus are very hard to lock in WT - IRL this isn’t a factor as they’re still the hottest thing in the air by far.

Yea, I get differences in heat signatures, but their engines aren’t that cold and the exhaust is a thing. That is about the only thing I get bothered by.
Yeah, there’s a lot of issues with how they’ve modeled IR signatures. However, we can only.play around it.
This is yet another factor that makes planes the best SPAAs - you can just fly to a helicopter and gun it down, or fire a suitable AGM at them.
Look at the time played. Not everyone plays just tanks. I play Naval and I am an Air Main having twice the game time in air then I do in Ground. You have 52 days in ground battles compared to my 10 days, so my bad, my estimate was a bit off. It is 5 times the game time and still being trash in SPAA. You only have twice the game time played in an SPAA than me, and it is pretty much all the Wirbelwind or 341.
