Damn what a joke really. Yamato has basically whole thing inside armour filled as ammo hitbox. And Soyuz barely has anything only ammo elevator and not the whole turret basket like Yamato. Really no reason to play Yamato untill they fix all this stuff and make Soyuz any realistic. And allow to take less AA shells for Yamato.
Average Soyuz game be like (after I shot one in enemy team after shelling it for good 10 min) :

What are you trying to say? It’s not a difference in design, as that ship could never see completion. They just quite literally copy-pasted the Kronshtadt’s shell room into the Soyuz. That’s a smaller ship’s shell room, 305mm shells, copy-pasted into a larger ship with 406mm cannons. The hitbox being slightly larger ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT make it come anywhere close to the other ships. They didn’t even care to copy-paste and make it larger, or just come up with something random, it is IDENTICAL to the Kronshtadt’s shell room dude lmfao.
The hitboxes are right there in front of our very eyes and you can always take a look at the other ships with the x-ray mode, Soyuz’ modules are so compact, the ship is so hollow compared to anything else it faces, there’s just no argument or justification to how that thing was added to the game man.

Finally had a proper encounter with a Soyuz and yes, this thing needs a nerf. It just 1 shot my Vanguard that was bow on. The round passed through the entire length of the bow and detonated both of my front ammo racks. Killing me instantly.
So it has the best firepower in game and best survivability by a significant margin. It could easily be 9.3+ in comparison to everyhting else in game right now

I wonder why they decided to go with such a positive “best case” interpretation of Sovestky Soyuz plans, but for the F-16AJ we got this:

And that despite the fact that the capability to carry a 4 + 4 missile loadout was a hard requirement in the competition it was proposed for, and the reason the initial F-16 got rejected in the first place. If the 10 years newer F-16ADF is more relevant than the actual given information on the F-16J proposal, then by the same standards Soyuz would be adjusted to be no better than existing ships from other nations.
Just dropping in here to give my 2 cents on the Soyuz situation since I’ve played quite a bit of top tier naval since Leviathans released and I’ve got my Bismarck spaded now.
Playing against the Soyuz is such an incredibly unfun experience, the only thing I can compare it to would be fighting a Tiger 2H in a T-34-85 on Fire Arc, with the both having tiny incredibly situational frontal weakspots that may be penetrated when point blank and being pretty much unkillable at range or if slightly angled while being able to nuke you at any moment.
It makes matches feel legitimately horrible.
I’m going to unlock the Yamato soon, which I doubt will be much better, but my motivation to play has already been completely obliterated by my experiences so far, I can’t even justify continuously trying to get my friends into naval either in this state.
Honorable mention goes to the Iowa too though, since fighting that thing is atrocious too.
This is blatantly a huge balance issue and needs to be taken care of ASAP.
Only thing I can currently recommend doing is checking the match making queue and exiting immediately if there are any T7 Soviet players waiting for a match.
because they wanted Soyuz to be the best Battleship. Its a paper ship and with all the problems it had they had every possibility to make it balanced without complaint but they decided against that. Its incredible that theyre fine with killing the entire hype of the update for every other naval player just to satisfy their soviet fondness
Yep. My plan is to create and only play a line-up that is somewhere between 6.0 and 7.3 I think. Real shame. I enjoyed playing Rodney and Vanguard, but I dont know if i can be bothered to have a repeat of the dark days of Scharnhorst where the team with the most of the OP ship always wins and everyone else was just target practice for them
To be fair I really hate it when games go “It’s paper, just make stuff up” and dismiss all sources, but in this case that’s not even what would’ve been needed.
At least from my very rough understanding of Soyuz, there seems to be a lot of different values and properties in different sources, generally becoming more conservative the further along it was before being cancelled. Now instead of taking the most up to date information available, they decided to instead go for the best possible values for everything and patchwork together a super ship that avoids all its flaws.
This is exactly the reason paper vehicles are disliked in the first place, because they don’t represent history and instead just do whatever the devs want them to.

Please snail, tell me why the f i should do that? I have put enough money into this to get 10 full release games already. Was a good time and i got my moneys worth out of it and played a lot of fun and unique vehicles.
Now im supposed to put more into this unbalanced mess, for the same 2 gamemodes that are in game for the 11 years im playing it? and for what? to get the yamato and the bismarck, the only two ships that are left in the two trees i had the mental strength to grind slightly faster but that will still be shredded by a blatantly op russian fantasy ship? To grind another tech tree from scratch that will be even less viable? I dont think so man
I dont like that either but thats the difference with the Soyuz, you dont have to make stuff up you just dont take the literal best version of everything and use either documents or creative liberty to bring it to a balanced level. Gun never actually tested on a ship = dont give it the best dispersion, armor not working = dont give it the best armor, shell never produced or tested = dont give it the same pen as iowa with 40kg of tnt, reload never tested = dont give it great reload

I feel you, i was immensely hyped to finally grind the last naval rank and get Bismarck but the prospect of facing the Soyuz constantly really killed my hype
One shotting a vanguard doesn’t seem unlikely.
Iowa and Yamato can already do it.

The round traveled through about 50m of steel, through not 1 but 2 turrets before then exploding with enough explosive mass to that detenonate not 1 but 2 different ammo racks.
