Confirmation from Swiderek Maciejka himself (the photographer who takes the Rafale photos) that the Rafales are going to Indonesia in 06:10 local time (~4 hours from now) from Istres.
Nah, i really don’t want to play another spitfire… It will be like the 20th or something. Also, the spitfire doesn’t really fit well within the Japanese TT IMHO. I’d much rather want it to be a premium, and let domestic Japanese WWII equipment fill out the lower ranks - with exception to unique and domestically build Thai, Malaysian and Indonesian WWII Aircraft.
I fully agree we need the many missing Japanese vehicles that there already isn’t enough space for.
But I also don’t agree with making more than 20% of any nations aircraft premium only, it’s simply not fair especially for nations like Thailand that don’t get represented outside of War Thunder much, if at all. Thailand shouldn’t just start randomly with the F-84 when they had an airforce as far back as WWI.
For the Spitfire there’s at least two different variants they could add, with the F Mk.XIVe and FR Mk.XIVe, so one can be premium here.
But for others where it’s not that easy I’d rather see them just not add these aircraft until the space for them is there than have them all end up locked behind a paywall forever. At least I have hopes for the rumored “research tree rework” to do something about it, nations shouldn’t compete for very limited techtree space. At the very least they should get their own space for their vehicles.
According to publication by Pekanbaru Airbase, there will be strict OPSEC enforcement from the aircraft (supposed) arrival on 22 January (today) until the 24th.
I don’t think there was a “first landing” footage as well (could be wrong, hopefully)
lowkey kinda sad considering this is possibly THE BIGGEST technological upgrade the air force has ever gotten in the modern era, and yet we gotta wait cuz the head honcho wants to see it for himself
confirmed. Disguised as other types of jet, but flight route is identical (FR > TR > AE > ID).
Could also be supporting logistics/personnel, but probably the former
