Empat Penerbang TNI AU Sukses Terbang Solo dengan Jet Rafale di Perancis
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Four Air Force (AU) fighter pilots who are members of Pilot Training Batch 1 managed to fly solo using Rafale fighter aircraft at Escadron de Transformation Rafale (ETR) 3/4 Aquitaine, Base Aérienne 113, Saint-Dizier, France.
The four aviators are Lt. Col. Pnb Binggi Nobel, Maj. Pnb Eri Nasrul Mahlidar, Major Pnb Arie Prasetyo, and Major Pnb Yusuf Atmaraga. They completed the solo flight gradually until September 19, 2025.
“This success is an important achievement in the series of Pilot Training Batch 1 as well as marking the readiness of TNI AU personnel in operating the Rafale before the aircraft officially strengthens Indonesian air defenses,” said Head of the Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau) First Marshal (Marsma) TNI I Nyoman Suadnyana in his statement, Thursday (25/9/2025).
In addition to sending aviators to France, the Indonesian Air Force also matures the development of Rafale support infrastructure in the country.
Roesmin Nurjadin Land, Pekanbaru, became the center of the Rafale facility, ranging from hangars, maintenance areas, to training centers (training centers).
According to Nyoman, the infrastructure is expected to be ready to be used in conjunction with the arrival of Rafale to Indonesia, so that the operation of the aircraft can be directly running optimally. “The construction of Rafale facilities in Roesmin Nurjadin Field, Pekanbaru, continues to be matured, ranging from hangars, maintenance areas, to training centers, so it is expected to support the operation of Rafale when arriving in Indonesia,” he said.
Rafale is a 4.5 generation fighter aircraft from France chosen by Indonesia to strengthen the air matra equipment.
Its presence is expected to not only improve the combat capabilities of the Indonesian Air Force, but also strengthen the national air defense system as a whole.
Previously, The Chief Of Staff Of The Air Force (KSAU) Marshal Of The TNI M. Tonny Harjono confirmed that the three Rafale fighter jets ordered by Indonesia will arrive early in 2026.
He said the three planes were planned to arrive in February-March 2026.
“So, we are preparing to receive the arrival of a Rafale plane, a French-made plane. The plan is between February or March, we will receive the first batch of three aircraft first,” said Tonny, when met at Halim Perdanakusuma Field, Saturday (09/13/2025).
Tonny said the initial disposition of these three Rafale fighter jets would be stationed in Pekanbaru. “So far we are preparing the infrastructure facilities in Pekanbaru to be able to receive Rafale aircraft. Please if you want to see [The aircrafts], come to Pekanbaru” he said.
