Sons of Attila - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

I think that Su-30/late Su-27s, Typhoons, and Rafales are among the most equal to each other.
And I think F-15C doesn’t get near them until the first? MSIP in the 1990s.
I fully expect 9Ms on Typhoon.
I don’t expect 9Ls as top missiles on anything 12.3 & higher.

Typhoon, at least for Britain, never carried Aim-9M. After the Tornado F3 issues during the first gulf war, they were never purchased again by the RAF. Instead Britain developed and deployed ASRAAM in 1998. So the first in service Typhoons in 2003 would have actually deployed with ASRAAM not Aim-9. Considering the performance advantage of Typhoon in WVR. The compromise of Aim-9L seems fair. Unless you think 6x ASRAAM is fair vs Aim-9M. Though the best maybe we could get is an IRCCM vairant of the Aim-9L but Im not familar on what/if the typhoon was ever equipped with those. At least the forum thread on it doesnt specify that

Manuals say they can fire 9Ms, thus that’s what they get.

I guess AV-8B Day Attack (DA) might be premium pack or event vehicle rank 8

Probably not 2nd event vehicle aircraft rank 8 for Germany but might be 1st event aircraft rank 8 from USA or China

A-10s arrived with AIM-9L in March 2022, GR7 came in September patch

I dont entirely see why they need to add an earlier F-15. They never added a Tornado F2 for example and a lot of F-16 variants have been skipped. Jump forward a little and add F-15C, Su-30 and Typhoons, Rafale and a decent Gripen, and I think all nations would be set. Current state is not sustainable. Some nations are leagues ahead of the others. So without a big jump. Things will get messy

Forgot about the A-10

Cause F-15C is all Japan can use, and 12.3 is here & Japan needs a 12.3 now rather than later.

Germany and Italy may have equipped them with them. But I dont think Britain did. They could add it as an aHistorical addition for Britain though. But With the exception of the SHar FA2 (until ASRAAM) no british jet was equipped with Aim-9M due to underperformance in the gulf war.

Right. Exactly. So thats:

F-15C for Japan and US
Typhoon for Britain, Germany and Italy
Su-30 for Russia
Gripen for Sweden
Rafale for France

I assume F-15 for Israel
No idea about China, Im sure they have something similar to what Russia has.
and I dont think i’ve forgotten a nation.

Nah. It’d be F-15J MSIP for ~13.0 for Japan with that.
While the initial F-15J stays at 12.3, since it only fires IR and AIM-7s.

Then that sounds fine to me. Most nations barely had 11.3s when they added F-16 and Mig-29 at 12. So jumping ahead and giving most(if not all) nations 12.7-13s I think is the only reasonable way you’ll maintain any form of balance going forward. Throw in a few other additions, like SHar FA2 at 12/12.3 and you fill that gaping hole for Britain there. Add 2 variants of hte Gripen and you fix the gap there for Sweden

Only the AV-8B+ can use AMRAAM from my understanding, the regular AV-8B doesn’t have the radar for it

China would get the J-11, a modified domestic version of the Su-27 and Taiwanese upgraded F-16Vs
Israel could get both F-15 C/Es and more F-16s that are domestically modified and even the F-35 when that eventually comes

That’s a wooden mock-up

Yeah, the F-16D has the same radar as the C block 50 as they just mentioned in the devblog so it should be able to carry all the same A2A weapons as the US F-16C, otherwise we’d have to wait for the F-15s or F-16I for Israel to get AMRAAMs.

The F-16D I imagine will be upgraded like the F-16C, with AMRAAM when that comes and even Python 4 capabilities in the future

It can get Derby Fox 3 too

I was hoping that the F-16D would stay with just the Python 4 and Sparrow and then the F-16I would receive the AMRAAM, but that depends on the timeline, if AMRAAMs are coming this year like you think then yes the F-16D should get them, but I personally am hoping for a more drawn out development with the 4th gen tress being filled out for an SARH top tier before AMRAAMs and the like are added.
