My theory is this update, Get the US and USSR out of the way, the next update catchup nations where they can for now, and last update of the year AMRAAMS and proper upgrades for proper nations
Yeah its not been great
FGR2 was our top tier jet for 3 years.
Gr7 whilst a little bit of an inital disapointment was fun when I got it and spaded it (until nerfs)
Torando Gr1, very good, but “unfinished” and still “unfinished” should have come a year earlier with the Mig-27 IMO
Tornado F3 could have been really good as well if it had come when it was relevant, like say with or near hte Mig-23MLD. about a 1.5 years earlier. It was pretty much DOA on arrival and the fact it took 5 months to get a decent radar (that is still buggy) really didnt help
FRS1 could have been really good (and by all accounts fine in ARB) But is gettings its correct radar and cockpit in this coming update, 9 months late.
So tell me why are we still using F’ing a phantom when we are at the 2nd gen of the shinys we are at the stage where we can use our prototype Tyhoon.
The alternative would have been a Tornado with ballast weight in the nose instead of a radar.
Well yeah.
Cause outside Japan, and maybe Israel, everyone else gets high-value ARHs.
Japan can get MSIP F-15Js with AAM-5s & Aim-7Ms to compete against the ARH carriers just fine IMO.
F3 & Mirage 2000 5F was the first prep. Now we have Block 50 F-16, SMT, Gripen’s confirmation, F-4F ICE…
And right now there’s internal testing of Aim-9M & AMRAAM vs R-73 & R-77 going on.
@Deathmisser
We’re not at 13.0 quite yet [Eurofighter, F-2, Rafale territory].
wait, you do not think that people are going to buy it? You don’t think a single person is going to GE it? theres still going to be hundreds who buy it out right or grind halfway then GE it depending how good it turns out.
Tell me, what makes more money giving the top tier tanks their proper rounds or a Indian T-90?
Everything else you just said regarding the F.3 is irrelevant.
Did I say anything about the Aim-120? I don’t care if they plan on giving it the AMRAAM. That is still not relevant or justification for the F.3 to have a pathetic radar model now.
I swear the Da.2 used 9L so its ritually with in the meta
People can GE the M1A2 SEP, that doesn’t mean it’s a cash grab.
@Deathmisser
And AMRAAMs. 9Ls with the AMRAAMs is potential for 12.7, but we still have options for 12.3 Britain.
Maybe they could fix Challys armour? Black Night’s APS isn’t even working properly and even ammo placement is wrong… They won’t just fix the bad performance of top tier adding more challengers…
Ehh… F3 was always F3 until the end of its life so… We would get the F.2 with a brick instead of the radar? We had months of bug reporting because everything about it was wrong. We even got it’s worst radar first.
I really hope.
Well gaijin can not add AMRAAM for now and add them later simple
But AMRAAM wont “fix” the F3 at this point. The competition is just past it It will always be massively behind hte compeition because everything else is faster and more nimble. Now this was technically correct, but instead of the F3 being our “prep” for the past 6 months (and another 3 months to go maybe) it could have come a long time ago with an earlier radar. The F2 might have been a bit of a brick (literally) but the F3 had a lot of upgrades in its time and was in service a while. We currently have the 1996 version, but we could have started with the 1980s ish version at the same BR, but before F-16s, F-14s or Mig-29s were even started on.
Anyone can see an interceptor vs a Fighter is a 1 sided fight. It always has been
Lol who said its a cash grab?!
It’s definitely a move to make money over making the British native tanks better by simply giving them their historical rounds.
AMRAAMs are being added this year, so that’s not an option.
Especially since Eurofighter development would’ve started rather recently, in prep for maybe late-next year things.
The point of the T90 is not just to add another tank though, the main point is that now their finally acknowledging the fact that Britain is the Commonwealth now
Gaijin had limited aircraft before like the F-4 was they can do the same with the Tyhoon
Honestly the Mirage 2000-5F will not stuggle in the future. The thing will get MICAs but currently it should have HMD and the Magic II should be much much much better.
Based upon the current rate of development and additions ( I was genuinely expecting the next gen of Mig-29/F-16s in like another 3-6 months) I could genuinely see a EF Typhoon (early) by Q2/3 next year. I think its going to be needed before long. What it will be armed with im not sure. But I just dont think the balance is going to be tenable without a few big catch-up additions
Ooo, bad prediction.
You know what I predicted when F-16A & Mig-29 was added?
“F-16 up to Block 52 can be added at any time now, ANY Mig-29 can be added now, including Mig-29K.”
Word for word what I said among my squadron mates.
Cause once the base is added, all later variants so long as there’s no major airframe changes, can be added.
And since Mig-29 never sees major airframe additions, any are possible.
I also stated “Once F-15C is added, F-15E can be added at any time.”
The last major airframe additions to happen are: F-15, Eurofighter, Rafale, Su-27, Su-30SM, Su-57, F-22, F-35 off the top of my head.
Oh right, the AESA bois: F-16 Block 60 & F-2.
The Commonwealth is a non-military alliance. So, Brittain has a right to the T-90?
NATO is an actual military alliance. Why shouldn’t Brittain get every export fighter and tank it ever sent anywhere?
The commonwealth argument is pathetic, its non-military alliance. The only reason GJ is mentioning Commonwealth is to indirectly suggest that it’s because Brittain had colonial rule over India once upon a time.
Because if it was solely because of this non-military alliance, then actual military alliances are fair game. GJ does not want to go down that path.
