The moment we get an AMRAAM carrying F-15, the EF Typhoon F2 is 100% on the table. It would HAVE to be if they want any sense of fairness.
I just think your timeline is off by a few months for a “EARLY” typhoon. With limitations.
They have too. Because Tornado F3 cannot fight F-16s or Mig-29s even with AMRAAM and 9M.
SHar FA2 will struggle with the same loadout, because it will be facing the same missiles.
All other options are either going to be crappy commonwealth addiitons or are going to be outclassed and a BR behind.
I just dont see a timeline where Typhoon is THAT far off. We are already pressing against it. In my opinion Fox 3 was the big hurdle stopping it. now… its within sight.
Typhoon is good, sure, but im not proposing the first gen to be armed with ASRAAM, 9Ls and AMRAAM would be my guess. Sure its nimble, but so is everything else by then.
My Timeline for britain
SHar FA2 this year - Aim-9M and AMRAAM
Harrier Gr9 - 9M and Brimstone (Q1/2 next year)
Typhoon Early 9L and AMRAAM (I reckon around Q3 next year)
Torando Gr4 ASRAAM and Brimstone (Q4 next year, I think 2024 is going to be set up for these kinds of missiles and not Gen4+ like the Typhoon)
Typhoon F2 ASRAAM and AMRAAM (that I think might be Q1/2 2025)

Q2-Q3 I think is reasonable. We do ahve at least 2 jets that I think should come before it and our current rate is about 1 every 6 months.
Thats fair Britain has always been the Red Headed Step Child of the “Main Nations” Im just on hopium for yall that it comes sooner since Gripen is right around the corner

Yeah, i’d be a little sad if Britain gets the Gripen via SA. but… Im also really interested in it because it could be a “baby” typhoon with its loadout. A good temp tester for a Typhoon Early

Here are the 3 things you need for Typhoon:
9Ls everywhere.
AMRAAMs everywhere.
Equivalent airframe existing with the previous two attached or getting those missiles.
Now, I haven’t done an analysis of Eurofighter’s airframe personally.
I can’t tell you if Rafale & Eurofighter are equivalent to F-16, F-15, Gripen, or whatever cause we’re just not at the BRs where doing that analysis matters quite yet.
What I can tell you is those are the 3 factors for EF possibility.
I will however look into EF’s airframe soon since well… 12.3 is here.

I’d expect Aim-9M everywhere in the next 6 months (arent 9Ls everywhere already?)
I’d expect every nation to have an AMRAAM carrier in the next 3 months And be on their second at least (with a few nations probably on their 10th), by the time of Typhoon around Q2-3 next year
F-15 and Mig-31/Su-27 Is my guess for most nations. Though Italy, Germany And Britain will have Typhoon, so thats 3 down right there
Though, why does it have to be equivalent airframe? Britain has had a Missile bus that cant turn all year, vs highly agile fighters. Is it really unbalanced for it to be the other way round for a change? So that other nations have to struggle to turn fight britain? Is Britain not allowed a turn fighter?

(10 nations in game, 56 commonwealth nations added to britain (and occasionally other), Hungary, I dont think i’ve missed any other)

It’s fairly obvious with Gripen announcement & AMRAAM carriers announced & implemented.
Once 12.0 was a thing, and Gripen was confirmed for this year, I called AMRAAM with Gripen part of the 12.3 spearhead. Tho Gaijin may try for 12.7, we shall see.
