Regular R27’s wasnt so special.
R27ER and ET on the other hand was rather special for this case but they came out with Fox-3 missiles.

alot of machines could have been in a folder… no really… naval, and american plans show that aswell
Agreed there. Mig-29s with these new weapons are going to be so far beyond the 11.3s that I think they could do with being moved to 12.7 just to block downtiers.
IRIS-T or IRIST?
The problem that you limit yourself to a tech tree.
I have 5 nations at top tier. If the US doesn’t get something interesting for ground its no problem because I can just suffer some more with Israel top tier. (which are just random nations I have at top tier to use for example)
And I’m very happy for Italy getting so much stuff even if I can’t really be bothered to grind that tree.
Please… Please read…
It’s neither of them it’s IRST( Infared search and track)
Brother im not talking about IR missile that was named IRIS-T.
İm talking about Infrared Search and Track system.
IRST*
And I have to admit you are correct about the F8E, and the F-4 had it apparently too. However the MiG-29’s IRST had a range that far outpaced western planes at the time, and was NOT present on the F-16, F-18, or F-15. Sensor-fusion also did not exist on those western planes that had IRST to either, so you could not slave weaponry to the lock.
Both MiG-29 and Su-27 had laser range-finding built into the IRST devices and FCS computers that could calculate range for the guns and HUD reticle, as well as confirm distances when radar locked. Again, R-60M’s and R-73’s could slave onto the IR lock. That technology took until the 2000’s for the F-16.
Cause i dont wanna grind another shit-tone of uninteresting vehicles. I want receive a thing, that community begs for 2-3 years already, to improve QOL of that Tree and just play it.
is just that i dont find sense to any of that he is not giving any source either since the IRIS-T System was made in the 2000’s InfraRed Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled that’s what its supossed to be, so im not really sure what is he talking about at this point
But that shouldnt be necessary. All nations should and so easily could get competitive additions, it would just mean the US and USSR would just get updates with no new additions on occasion.
I spent a hell of a long time getting to top tier, I really do not enjoy low tier ASB nor do I enjoy ARB at any BR. I do not want to grind my way through another tree, any tree. Just so that I can have something playable. Especially as by the time I get there, aircraft that I actually want, like the Typhoon should be added. Making the entire endeavour a waste of time.
As far as I can tell R-77 entered service 1991 just like AIM-120A. I’ve also seen some people say 1994 but that would still before AIM-120C and fall together with AIM-120B.
Yes, AIM-120A, which was quickly realized to be inferior in range to the R-27R. Hence why in my original comment I said: “AIM-120 got entire upgrades just to try to close the gap.”
Sure Soviet IRST was more sophisticated then those early models and under optimal conditions it was working very well.
The thing is NATO planes avionics was so advanced that they actually didnt need IRST to find their targets.
that project is dead
Jesus Christ are you not reading what’s being said? ISRT ( Infared search and track )
Good for their time.
the problem is that he called it IRIST system so im confused tbh
Yes, he mentioned a failed project related to IRIS-T
