top tier aircraft only come to the research tree though, they got a Swiss event vehicle but that doesn’t mean all that much aside from linking Switzerland and Germany, it’s not an indication that we’ll get a Swiss subtree.
Close in ACM yes, BVR no. Comparable speeds and launching the same weapons, at least initially until IRIS-T and Meteor come along, god knows how far away they are though.
Better a Swiss sub tree than more test flight based insanity.
İt is also not an indication that Gaijin will add F-15 to Germany and at this point adding Swiss F-18 instead of adding F-15 to Germany does make much more sense.
Wether or not this will up to Gaijin even tho i dont like adding F-15 into German tech tree. İf thats what Gaijin’s wants then there is nothing more we can discuss about that.
their BVR capability is similar but the BFM capability is awful, all you need for BVR is a radar and speed, but most matches will not be decided by BVR, but by the furball which is mostly BFM.
again, adding a Swiss F/A-18 requires a Swiss sub tree, which is a lot more work than just copy pasting an F-15 with a different camo, as we saw with the F-16AJ Gaijin would rather take the lower effort approach than the more sensible one.
Actually it doesnt if they wan to go this route and we dont know if they are already making swiss sub tree for Germany.
İf they want to add Swiss F-18 before completing Swiss sub tree they can just place it under Phantom line before putting Swiss sub tree, after that they can just simply move to its place where it belongs originally.
My problem with the German F-15 is not so much it’s addition but its capabilities. The picture that is shown seems to be a F-15B which is the earlier versions meaning it has no future proofing and won’t even use fox 3s eventually Germany will just be the same situation.
Guys be arguing the same shit for 7 hours lol
Well the F-16AJ is a block 10 which couldn’t use Sparrows but it has them anyway, so there’s no reason they couldn’t give AMRAAMs to a German F-15. There’s no need for a German F-15 until AMRAAMs anyways and there don’t need to be any more modern versions of it, it just needs to plug the gap in capability between the MiG-29 and EF-2000 really.
I don’t see anything like that in your screenshot, but I think I get what you’re trying to say abt the lifeboats in the center of the ship - that 's interesting.
Does it ? GB has the Canadian ADATS despite the latter country not being a defined subtree, since the vehicle fills a capability gap which can’t be done through domestic vehicles.
If something from another nation comes to bridge the similar gap between the MiG-29(DE)/F-4F ICE and Eurofighter, it might be in a similar circumstance: w/o a full-length dedicated branch of vehicles along w/ it.
Uhh the F-16AJ is proposed with sparrows. The in game one is just a combination of blk 10 (airframe) and blk15 (radar and electronics).
Something like that has yet to happen in any air tree but that may be a better option, it might be better to follow on with some Polish vehicles though as then the MiG-29 line could also be continued a little with the F-16 following the F-4F perhaps, The Lim-5P is also a German operated Polish export vehicle in the German tree already so there is a connection there.
Polish mig29 is pretty much the same as the current german mig29 but with a new cockpit and no r27t/et. Polish f16c could work though. There was a proposal to upgrade the polish mig 29 to fire aim9x since r73 was not really availiable to nato by the early 2000’s.
well given that the current German MiG-29 is pulling some weird time travel stunt to get R-27ERs it wouldn’t be too far fetched for them to add a NATO version of the MiG-29 but tbh I don’t know much about those Polish MiG-29s, mostly I feel like modern Poland and Germany are a good match for a tech tree although I’d rather see Poland get it’s own tree really.
Only polish vehicle i would want is the K2 black panther, and only so that all panther tanks are in 1 tree, ww2 panthers, KF51 panther and the k2 black panther
The APG-65 of the F-4F ICE did not have IIF?
It has an iff receiver but no iff interigator. Basically other planes can tell its friendly, but the radar can’t determine friend from foe. Irl they relied on u.s. f15 stationed in Germany for that capability.
Sounds like it was kinda useless, what did the Germans even keep them around for?
German military since ww2 has been perpetually broke and do anything to penny pinch.
Guess that’s what happens when you get complacent about peace and rely on the US to keep you safe.
