It would nerf all APHE slingers, which can affect some tanks more than others…
There would probably need a relatively large restructure of mid-tier and low-tier vehicles, and I’m not quite sure how Gaijin would handle it.
To fix the SPAA APHE slinger problem, I think the APHE nerf can be implemented for APHE calibers of less than 40mm, which would mostly just affect SPAAs, which is the intended target.
Most of the time (from my experience), you often need more than one shot (often two or three) to kill most things in front aspect (especially if you’re going for cupolas and / or front-plate shots with APCR).
For side-aspect shots, though, I agree with you.
That being said, I agree that it should be moved down to 5.3… maybe 5.0 if the change is that bad for it.
The Gepards, and especially the Za-35, have been complained about for years. It’s not like there’s some small portion of the WT community that thinks the Gepards are too strong, it’s pretty much everyone who reaches 8.3.
I dont know whats so hard to understand there is something wrong with the Shells
They used to shred things from the side and might even get a Commander view over pressure
But currently you can just spray a t55 from the Front and somehow it just blows up after a while
With the hit view showing all kind of unexplainable things
And i shot a m48super with the amx-30dca and shot it around the gun breach and it did just blow up
Like how, i was nowhere near the turret ring or Commander
That shit need to be fixed and the spaa situation should mostly fix itself
They’d pretty much cease being good SPAAs for those BRs.
I think they should just make <40mm APHE act like realistic APHE shells (conical fragmentation instead of spherical to stop cupola shots) and nullify their penetration when ricochets (to stop trap shots).
Time wise I do agree a bit. At least 12 at night my time, all the Asian cheaters hop on and you notice a complete turn of how the game is. Suddenly you get hit sniper through spots you’d never be able to see, through 17 bushes, 6 trees etc.
Funniest thing is I keep getting “thank you for your report we took action” after reporting them.
Yeah… Against ground… Theyre great against ground I agree, although i wouldnt really move them up tbh. They`re just mediocre at best against air, nowhere near 9.7 worthy as you claim
Za35 is fine where it is, was a little too spicy at 8.3. 8.7 is a decent placement, doesnt get APDS, and has a lower ammo count (460 total as apposed to the gepards 680 total). Leopards suprisingly comfortably resist it frontally, and leopard isnt exactly heralded for its armour.
The proxy from what i know isnt really effective beyond 5km due to accuracy problems too, just make the belt have one traces and it will balance out quite nicely, i can agree maybe for 9.3 but CAS way out ranges it at 10.0 with some having easily 10km ordinance
Says the guy who wants to move an almost viable SPAA making the best option at the BR range to use a 7.3 SPAA so he can CAS with impunity. Keep in mind some nations dont have anything between like 5.3 and 8.3 to begin with. The gepard will not move up to 9.7 just because you dont know how to use your WASD keys to dodge a very obvious laser beam. And will not move up to 9.7 because it can melt light tanks which it historically can do (yes there are still balance issues with the Gepard, but compressing higher BRs more is not the way to go)
I’m sorry, but if you’re somehow failing to make use of a 1980s SPAA with a lead indicator fighting 1940s and 50s subsonics, most of which barely exceed 500mph and have no ballistics computers, then you’re just simply bad at Warthunder.
The only planes that have an actually fair fight against a Gepard without being a complete 1.0 uptier are the F-84F, SAAB-105, A-4B, and the Bullpup buccaneer.
I’m sorry but if you’re somehow failing to dodge a laser beam that takes 3 business days to reach you without reacting, that one is on you. If you fail to kill it from outside its effective engagement distance, thats on you.
You said it yourself with these, “fair fight” and most nations have a variant of these, or something equal or better at 8.7
(Edit; just checked and only USSR, China, and Isreal dont have viable CCIP or AGM CAS at 8.3 - 8.7. Even then you can still climb and drop, it takes more skill sure, but its still just lining up your nose and pressing space bar.)
look, just a friendly warning, youre talking to one of the most well known trolls on this forum.
Pangolin was caught lying multiple times, was caught contradicting himself, neither global nor his stats support his claims, but that doesnt stop him. If you prove him wrong, he will call you CAS hater and what not, or straight up conjure his own reality or gaslight you or simply move the goalpost.
Its best to block him, and dont talk to him ever again. Id advise to petition to mods to perma ban him, but everyones opinion needs to be respected and his ragebaiting apparently does not break any forum rules.
