I also wanted to bring up a point that your screenshot shows very well which is that I would rather have people leave after going 0-1 than die 2-4 times without contributing a useful amount to the match.

Yes. And I just feel that it isn’t meaningful to stay in a match at all when you feel like all you are going to be is a target for others to shoot at. This is just a waste of time and lowers your KD

I say its still kinda bad economic balance still.

The real problem I have that causes one death or even 3 death leave at best is top 3 problem that gaijin still doesn’t wanna solve:

  1. SP: I understand what gaijin thought of when adding that system to limit cas spawn but it encourages more ODL especially when you get spawn camped by apds or apfsds autocanons like gepard or finnish gepard then run out of SP to spawn any tanks. The solution I can give is significantly increase SP cost to spawn planes at a benefit of tanks not needing SP.

  2. Spawn camping: Just give them invulnerable armor until either teams leave the area because its super annoying when most of my team doesn’t do objectives but camp on other side of the map trying to spawnkill. There is also some folks with gepard or finnish gepard that spawn camps and obliterates folks with either APDS or APFSDS that will shred your low SP so you leave with 2 death…

  3. CAS: Yeah its one of the reason why players would just 1 death leave when we have that one guy with 1k lb bombing everywhere including team killing and low tier spaa quite sucks without the radar…

Well, SPAAs with radar are also pretty useless against planes, mainly because the radar almost never aims correctly, and the marker often jumps around even when the plane isn’t moving.

I’m not gonna lie to you, I think this perhaps one of, if not the, single worst idea I have ever read on this entire forum. Something like this would not only leave to more people leaving - but it will make our already mediocre games being filled to the gills with bots sent to replace their numbers.

You see, the fact of the matter is - as long as there are videogames with PvP matches, there are ALWAYS - and I mean always, every day of the year, 24/7, until the end of time - going to be people that leave early. Is it because they hate the game? Probably, maybe. Is it because they’re busy elsewhere? Maybe, probably. Is it because the match just started like crap and they know how it’s gonna go because War Thunder is like an abusive ex that you start to flinch at every time she raises her hand too fast? Sure, idk. But the point of the matter is, there will ALWAYS be people who one death leave, all the time.

Hell, I one-death leave all the time. Half of every match I play. Do you want to know why?

Because I do not care. I do not care enough about this game to keep grinding my brains into mush just to fire some dopamine for 0.0000000003 seconds if it means suffering more than I have to. So of course I am going to quit. And so will everyone else. I do not care about your match; they do not care about your match. Just play the game, don’t bother anyone else, and get lost.

As a matter of fact, why don’t you start one-death quitting? Stop complaining about the problem and enjoy! It’s just a game. At the end of the day, it’s just a dumb game made by a dumb dev. So just go a little ham. The matches are never going to get easier. The game is never, ever, EVER going to be balanced properly. It’s been thirteen years, and these morons think they deserve a medal or something? Come on. Don’t take it seriously, and just quit a few matches. It doesn’t matter.

Good example. For those that actually decided to keep playing the game under a forced format, you’d definitely see low tier crap filling the vehicle slots.

I’m not sure how anyone would assume otherwise actually. The penalty doesn’t magically change the perspective of the 1DL player. On the contrary, they will quickly formulate the quickest and least costly way to get out of the game. That’s going to be fast T1’s and yolo’s to the enemy.

It would also encourage a lot of toxic behavior. It presents ample opportunity for things like spawning low tier vehicles and running around blasting away with mg’s near team mates, etc etc.

Not sure how much of that one would see though because after a good chunk of the player base quits, and que times are in the 5+ min range, you’ll see a snowball effect with an exodus of all types of players from the game.

I suggest once ODL mode just for ODL players no harms and nobody give a shit if they quit in the ODL mode.

I see only one ODL - and the rest just bad US-players

You realize when you subtract those players from the game, everyone’s else’s queue time will go up - maybe significantly.

You might be fine with that, but I suspect a LOT of players will not. And this is one reason why Gaijin will not adopt such a process.

And…
It in no way corrects the behavior Vortex and I mentioned. Those players will not be ODL players. It will be 1 legit vehicle and then a “beater” that contributes more to the enemy team than it does your own team.

Posters like you seem to have tunnel-vision on this, and can’t see the forest for the trees.

I support seperate mode for ODL. Look at yourself please because you accuse someone having tunnel-vision without thinking. The person HayaKatana suggest the idea before me in feb 2024 for ODL explaining how it should work.

Sorry, I’m wasting time on people like you who don’t understand ODL problem at all. If you can’t read the person explain in detail why ODL mode is necessary then you are rage baiting noob.

After all those years people still don’t get it.
1DL is the method that people brought to counter the gameplay/MM/maps/grind etc. game’s short comings.
Gj doesn’t deliver.
Imagine we still asking for stupid things like…spawn protection. Way too mandatory things.
1 good map… all of the maps are crap…more or less.
Better MM. Better grind…

You understand they just told us if you don’t like it leave in a polite way.

And we question why players 1DL?
When they game gets better and they actually have a gain from not doing it , they’ll stop doing it…
The capability to play 3 times the same vehicle (not with back-ups/paid in game or RL methods) would help starting solving the problem , because you’ll give people that grind mods and /or the ^next vehicle ^ in line that gets the bonus RP a reason to play the whole game. It won’t be lost time for them.
That’s mandatory i think.

When you grind up mods for a certain vehicle, you pretty much have to ODL. It makes no sense to play other units. You ODL and roll again the vehicle you want to spade.

Other reasons might be:

  • premium related

  • Long repair times. When my tank gets fully disabled (gun, turret basket, engine), it actually takes longer to repair that thing than just leaving and join a new match.

  • Its better to ODL and start again on a clean map. Spawning second vehicles often just gets you shot by already set up campers or powerful jets/helis. So often just a waste of time and SL.

  • Maps I dislike. Factory again? No thx. Spawn heli, land, leave vehicle, spawn a gap filler vehicle, leave it. Once all SP used up → new game. Its not really ODL, but…

I ODL when I see my team does nothing like sniper from distance and not capping points at all. Just camping near spawn and do nothing = ODL instantly.

one death leaving is a good thing some times cause why would i waste time putting in effort just to loose when my team has zero frontal lobe some times

I bring line up and not single tank doing ODL every battle and not wasting time against spawncampers and CAS flying above the spawn.
