After playing Simulator Air Battles for a long time, especially around the 3.7–6.7 BR range, i collected a few ideas that could improve immersion and gameplay depth:
Fuel consumption should depend on actual throttle usage instead of acting like a timer while the engine is on.
Flying at 50% throttle should consume much less fuel than flying at 75% or 100%, rewarding players who manage their engines properly.
Bailouts and crash landings could give different rewards depending on territory.
If a pilot bails out over enemy territory, they are considered captured and receive no reward, bailing out or crash-landing safely in friendly territory could give Silver Lions, with crash landings rewarding more than bailouts.
This would encourage players to try returning home instead of immediately leaving the aircraft after taking damage, adding more tension and realism to engagements.
Bridges could become strategic targets. Destroying them would prevent AI ground forces from crossing rivers and would give attackers and bombers more meaningful objectives.
Add AI cargo planes flying toward enemy airfields, they would be slow targets crossing the map in a straight line, giving players only one realistic chance to intercept them before they deliver supplies or reinforcements.
Destroying them could reduce enemy tickets, delay repairs, reduce AI reinforcements etc…
AI units could occasionally report enemy positions instead of permanently spotting targets, for example, bombers attacking a base could radio for help, or ground units under attack could report approximate enemy locations.
Surveillance aircraft should have an actual reconnaissance role, periodically revealing enemy positions or movements.
They should also attempt evasive maneuvers and a more effective return fire when attacked to make them more valuable tactical targets.
Introduce night battles on some maps. This would make radar-equipped aircraft like the Bf 110G4, P-61C, and F6FN5 much more interesting and useful and would create unique combat situations with searchlights, tracer fire, and limited visibility.
For higher BRs (8.3 +), add interception missions against waves of one way attack UAVs or cruise missiles, like Gerans or AGM-158/ Kh101 etc…
Players would need to intercept them before they hit airfields, bases, or ground infrastructure.
