Simply skipping the uptier

I do it when I am on a map I dislike, or if I am playing a lineup that does poorly in uptiers.

Full uptier on Rhine in the t-34-85? I’d spawn in multiple times.

Full uptier on Sands of Sinai playing France 7.7? Absolutely not.

Im facing the 1969 M163 in my WW2 props currently and its a joke.Plus the Elephant at 6.7 is a chore but at least it has armour ,not in the uptier though facing Soumas etc at 7.7,it just becomes redundant and pointless.

I’m pushing on and remaining optimistic but the uptier is spoiling the fun and that is what we are there for .I can take it that the Russians can pen 200mm with some later WW2 vehicles ,just about but the cold war is bringing in almost 300mm of pen power.

I kind of feel Gaijin are killing their own game with it all.Any way this is not my whinge fest : ) ,well it’s not meant to be.

nope . . I don’t even look at that stuff when the game starts. All I check is to see the game’s “size” then off I go to shoot the red guys . . . pew pew pew. I mean there is nothing you can do to change any of that stuff once the game starts, so why even worry about it? If you come across and enemy vehicle that you are scared off, can’t handle or whatever, you have 3 basic options - 1) go full ham and try to take him with you, 2) get some buddies and gang up on him or 3) Run away . . .

If you only play 11.7 you never get uptier.

And how is that working out ?

Nah, I usually roll woth any game unless I get killed immediately from the spawn. If the fun in that games dies, I leave.

What kills the fun in the game for you ?

Well I dont get stomped in uptiers and if I feel like getting stomped I jump on US.

It doesnt unfortunately. Id hope that getting to the Challenger 2s would mean no more uptiers… But the difference between a Challenger 2 (even an 11.7 one) and something like a Leopard 2A7V is about the same as a full BR uptier

In what areas do you feel the Chally 2 is being misrepresented?

Well… I have a discussion thread with a load of bug repots that need fixing (Note: does need updating)

But its the slowest tank at top tier. Has one of the worst armour and no longer has any advantage in terms of shell or fire rate. Challenger 3TD is in even worse state, with even less armour and slower fire rate. When combined with the lack of an actual SPAA (its classed as tank destroyer with associated SP cost) and no IFV above 8.3. Our line-up is pretty flimsy. The only thing going for us is that we can just spam a constant stream of basically identical MBTs at the front line.

Fighting tanks like the 2A7V and BVM are a pain, you have to nail tiny weak spots and hope you hit the right pixel and maybe just maybe, you’ll do enough damage to disable them, maybe once in a blue moon, kill them. Challenger 2… I’ve been 1 tapped by an IFV through my front armour.

Mostly when features or mechanics don’t work worth a shit. Like the game I was just in I got hit in the very back of my M1128 by an ATGM and got overpressured because it hit the transmission and the transmission runs the whole length of the vehicle so it technically damaged a component in each compartment even though it wasn’t anywhere close. My biggest pet peeve is when shots ricochet at near flat angles and extreme angle shots penetrate no problem. Add to that when shells get absorbed by optics and such and it just gets old after a few times. That is just for ground, I don’t even wanna mention the shit that has happened to me in naval tonight…

Oh, and desync, the rampant shitstorm that is being killed by rounds when the tracers aren’t anywhere near you…

Oh, and the sounds are mostly dogshit too. Can’t hear a tank next to you but can hear one 10 buildings away like it was in front of you.

I generally skip maps in re-occurring situations, like getting Flanders 6 times in a roll once…
I rarely skip uptiers, unless I am playing tanks/line-ups that do very bad in uptiers, for example T-54’s at 8.0. Those things are walking dead tanks at 9.0.
Or maps I dislike.

Glad it’s not just me having trouble there.

Depends on the map. I don’t play modern stuff. If I have a decent map with opportunities for light tanks and support, I stay.

In ground, no. In air, depends. If i am using my f4e and see 12.0s, im out.

You forgot the best part when it is a lvl9 in top tier premium with their lvl 3-8 friends in ranl 1 props

I agree. With the way Gaijin has screwed over some of the nations tanks, which can barely cope with the BRs they are assigned too, let alone a full BR uptier. Coupled with certain maps layouts, I don’t even bother sticking around.

I’ve found the sounds to be weird lately. I’ll log in and I’ll have no problems finding planes, in my SPAA, then next time no idea where the plane is because the sound is all over.

yep, I always do this. highly recommend zero-death leaving a full uptier IF your vehicle does terribly in uptiers, at least, like pretty much any heavy tank. if it can do just fine like a T34 or a Pz IV or something, then no, not worth bothering, just play. But armor meta mostly yes.

“Crew lock” is a joke. If you’ve been playing for more than like 2 weeks, you can have lineups in 4 different nations and your first one will always be un-locked by the time you cycle through.

Half the time in mid middle ranges of BRs, there’s so many copy/pasted vehicles that you can almost literally play the same lineup in 3 or 4 different nations. Especially if you like Shermans.

If there was a button to hit to exclude me from full uptiers OR full downtiers, I would hit that instead. (+/- 0.7)

Yes.

If i don’t feel like playing uptier, or there is some map i don’t like, i simply leave. I just play different nation then.

Crewlock should be turned off, i leave - someone should join in my place, no need to give time out in game i pay for

EDIT: Why TF the topic got closed? Any reason?
