a new plague is taking hold, or at least now that I’ve started playing in simulation actively to grind German planes to get the EF2000, with my MIG 21 Lazum M, I’m trying to actively engage in missions, shooting down planes (bot and player) by bombing the bases that spawn, as complicated as it is to maneuver and use the head camera with an Xbox pad, and when I run out of weapons, I go back, land, reload and go back to fighting. this at least is a normal way we should all play, I think you all agree with me on that. then there are them, the zombies (that’s what I call them) take off, aim for the stratosphere, and when they are above the enemy base, they go into a dive, drop the bombs and crash. and so on for the entire duration of the match except for interceptions. now I would like to understand, are they bots? they are active players who deliberately use this system which only causes the team to lose because they do not destroy the bases that spawn, they do not actively participate in air superiority, and therefore the team loses every time. How can all this be stopped? Is gaijin aware of this unethical and respectful farming method towards other players who actively participate in the mission?
Let me know what you guys think

Not bots, just idiots sadly

I report to everyone who uses this method. I find it stupid and it doesn’t help the team.

Unfortunately not a new plague.
We had an outbreak every event I witnessed since I started simming.

They’re farming points for the event. Most are easy kills, they fly slow because of their ordnance and often fly high where contrails are easy to spot. Taking down the F-111s is easy for the MiG-21 with R-60Ms if you attack from the front. If you have rear-aspect missiles you have to be very close or use guns because of their MAWS. Phantoms are easy fodder for any missile. They often ragequit as soon as they get shot down.

Yeah I played in my mig 23mld to grind the f14 A and all my r24r were kills because there were always some f4s high up in the air. It was boring but I got my job faster done then they did
If they are intentionally crashing into bases, then they arent farming the EF-2000, or they are new to the gamemode and have no idea what they are doing, because doing that… will get them 0 RP.
The only thing that can be farmed using that method is score for events. So if the current event is still running that will be why.
Its difficult to nerf though, because events should be farmable for any aircraft and that includes bombers and strike aircraft. But the current economy system does prevent those tactics from generating any SL or RP.

OP is grinding the Eurofighter, not the score farmers.
Ah you are right, misread it.
No. Suicide attacking airfield is not “nonsense gameplay”, but one of the fastest ways to get score for the event.
This is sometimes wrong. It depends on how zombers attack the airfield. Destroying airfield modules will contribute victory points, and destroying 2 of the 3 airfield runway modules will leave the enemy only ONE spawn, which is useful in some cases.
Of course, this is why the sim reward multiplier went to 2.3x from 3x, and the score from attacking airfield has already been cut in half. But after nerfing, it’s still one of the best ways - that’s why people still actively grind this way. However despite the nerfs …
… Gaijin’s employees said this gameplay is not against the rule, on the bug-reporting site several months before. You can only report for actions that violate the rules, such as asking for PvE in chat or teamkilling the guys who do PvP.

it’s really sad that this thing is legit, it’s an absurd abuse of mechanics, 0 skill. but the thing I don’t understand is how they manage to identify the enemy base especially in those maps where there are clouds at a certain height and therefore it is not possible to see the base from high altitudes, but I saw them attack and bomb it with precision. Is there a ping that can be seen from inside the plane? to have direction and know where to go? because I very often struggle to identify the bases that spawn around the map, and it would be of great help to be able to put a marker where the bases are located

What is the problem to find or create session where all other players play the game the same way you do?
These zombers usually quit PvP sessions. So, cooperate with other players and create PvP rooms, is it so hard?
Many players do AF bombing becuase there is no good gameplay in sim EC.
Players will always look for cheating and easy ways to get rewards. Gaijin just do not want to create proper gameplay for players who are looking for PvE and cannot use them to make profit.
Are you asking how they identify airfields or bases? Zombers don’t attack bases.
For identifying airfields: There’s a (glitch? feature? idk) that at the first time you spawn you will be able to see the location of all the enemy’s AF, for a very short period of time.
For identifying bases: it’s very helpful to bind the “set target for squad” command to a key. When you think you’re near the base, look at somewhere on the ground, press that key and compare the base location to where you pinged on the map. After a few tries you’ll be able to find the actual location of the base.
They are also in the same location every single match, so you can just learn their locations or look at a map online.
Also, once located they are marked on the map.
Finally, for more modern aircraft, you can use CCRP to target the Airfields.
that sounds exactly like how Wyvern botters used to be, although they were coded to land the plane on an airfield and AFK the rest of the match. RP grinding while they are at work (nobody that bots a game is employed lmfao) or sleeping
It is. I keep track of scores because I am grinding the event as well. I play objectives in a legit way. Bomb bases, sometimes go for caps or shoot down targets of opportunity (including the zombers themselves). As a result I’m rarely far behind them, sometimes I’m ahead of them. Not to mention I get a decent amount of SL (a good session with a premium plane and boosters can easily yield over 500k) while they go negative, zero SL if they have premium.
The only reason they do it is because it literally takes zero brainpower.
Zombing make 900 score every 4 minute plus the module destroying bonus. You can’t achieve this unless you are a very good player. And it IS also legit currently.
Not necessarily. You can get about 600 score per A2A kill and i’ve had 4 Zombers on tunisia line themsleves up nicely resulting in me making about 2400 score in about 2 minutes. They kept doing it
Well this is not reliably achievable for average players when they are not so good at A2A and the zombers leave after being killed.
In my experience I’ve only encountered one zomber hunter who get score much faster than all zombers. He was able to find everyone without radar. Lmao that guy turned out to be a cheater and was banned in last “fair play”.
Yeah, that I wouldnt recommend, but I often find the 11.3 bracket during events on Tunisia is pretty reliable in an aircraft like the Phantom FGR2/FG1. Especially as I can easily dump 8k of bombs onto an airfield using CCRP before going off and hunting players
Yeah, the average RB player can barely take-off let alone engage in basic A2A combat in Sim. But for the non-RB players in Sim. Farming the Zombers is by far the quickest and easiest way to do events. Though I personally only bother when there is a vehicle I might actually fly
