Went to 5.0-6.0, flew 3 battles, rooms were fairly populated.
Played like noob, did PvE stuff, died many times (from beasty corsairs and mustangs), often with zero useful action.
But still got nearly 100k SL every time.

I come to SB to play. Grinders can go to hell. I don’t want these “most players” in the only mode I play.
Doesn’t this happen in all gamemodes? Like in ground RB when enemies pushed and start camping our spawn, players can choose to leave.
And what is your solution? imo lobby system is intended for EC modes since the game duration is long and the playerbase is not big enough.
I believe Gaijin would consider your opinion against “most players”, ONLY if you give more money than the summation of “most players” to Gaijin :)
Yep.
Otherwise we would have the most interesting flight simulator on the market.
It’s not that big of a deal in other game modes because randomized matchmaking makes it such that you will be on the losing team around 50% of the time.
I don’t have one that sim players would actually like. But the sim economy cannot be changed when the most players are nearly maximizing their rewards for minimal risks and consistently receiving win bonus.
Silver lions rewards are not really a problem at low tiers. It becomes a problem at higher tiers and for non-premium players.
Just looking at your screenshots it looks like you died 5-7 times per game, have a premium account, and won every game.
Just removing the win bonus would reduce a 100,000 SL pay out to 68,000SL. Removing premium bonus would even further reduce it.
For instance if you had replicated the performance numbers at top tier with something like an Su-27…your spawn costs would have been around 60,000 - 90,000 silver lions. It is also likely that you would not receive the win rate bonus due to the current red side win rates at top tier being very low.
At higher tiers I can do better, because it’s easier and quicker to get score and run away to get 15-minute action.
So, at higher tiers my awards are usually bigger.
I’m sorry, but this is f2p MMO game. I don’t see anything wrong with gaijin encouraging people to buy a premium account or at least play better.
Because I play to win the game, not to zombie-grind.
It’s not deathmatch, it’s EC, where objectives exist. You complete em, you get score, you reduce enemy tickets, you win, you get +47% award. Looks fair.
This is the tier that is most prolific for PvE farming. Look at your team mates…they are all ground attackers with the exception of a single MiG-21.
This tier plays a lot differently than top tier does. Most of the enemy team is usually just PvE grinders in premium planes and maybe 1-2 guys just trying to pad kills on PvR players.
I can win 90%+ of my games at 12.7 and above if I play on the Blue side of the matchmaker. If I play on the Red side of the matchmaker I only win 15% of the time. Not only is it dramatically more likely that I will win on Blue side and receive a 47% silver lions earning bonus…but my spawn costs are about 50% less. The spawn costs of an F-16C is around 10,000 silver lions while the spawn cost of an F4F ICE is around 15,000 silver lions.
Are blue side players just inherently better than red side players at top tier? Am I just insanely good in the USA planes? Or do you think that there is more to it? What should red side players do to play better when they are routinely outnumbered 2:1?
I also play to win the game but there is only so much that one person can do to offset overwhelming odds. Even the best top tier players that I know of will have a less than 50% win rate while playing red team…and that is even with getting 30+ player kills in a match…and doing every objective that they can.
Yes, useless players (for team) on prem attackers.
Yes, I know.
I don’t change nation since I started one, so I played US until last plane researched.
Now I play for USSR and yes, on high tiers it’s much harder to get a victory.
US have better strike aircraft. Bigger payload, more bombs. Also faster.
F-105, F-111 or F-15 just erase circles and ground targets from map faster than any soviet planes can do it.
So when I fly Su-25 I focus on completing objectives, even at the cost of less reward.
But I have positive winrate.
You left out how long it took you to do this…
I don’t have a problem with some form of cap but it should be high and not the way it is implemented now.
1-1.5 hours each.
I’d say games are too short. There’s sector capture mechanics, but it’s almost useless because you don’t have enough time to cap significant part of the map.
Yes, the rewards in this game mode are terrible! So terrible that in air realistic battles, you can earn double or even triple the rewards in just 2 to 3 hours of continuous play. I’m not sure exactly when they reduced the rewards for objectives and base destruction, but it must have been around the time they adjusted the damage caused by rockets. As a player who grinds tech trees in simulation mode, I’ve noticed a drop in community interest after the rocket nerfs fewer maps are being created, and it’s hard to find matches with decent maps. Often, you’re stuck with maps full of dense, low clouds that interfere with ground attacks, preventing jets from doing what they’re meant to.
It feels like this mode has been somewhat abandoned; it needs careful attention and ideally a rework to make it worth the three hours spent per match again. And above all, they need to make the aircraft stationed at our airfields take off instead of sitting idle or destroyed on the runway for the rest of the match.
Lol.
Why should they bother about it if this mode is mostly used by players from RB only for grinding, often by use of economy exploits.
In a 15m ARB battle I can make about 10-30k sl and 3-6k rp depending on how good I do, but I need atleast 2 UA cycles (30 minutes) just to match that in sim.
I mostly just want better SL rewards, so you don’t need to have 2 full UA cycles just to cover 3 spawns.
So 3 hours for 300K Sl and whatever RP you got (if it’s out of your range you get none, btw).
that seems quite low compared to 3 hours of burning through arcade or Realistic… if I bothered learning the slightest bit about tanks I could go do CAS and clean house in 3 hours…
for 3 hours of try harding you should get a 3 million SL on a regular basis.
The Economy changes really did help as before that even in medium tiers it was easy to lose 50K Sl per hour even with “good” games… But really sim should reward more for the time and effort it takes to do (and especially to get good - you can’t just pull off 100K games on your first day playing Sim).
I can understand a cap at some level but it should be really high and last over a 24 hour period rather than a 15 minute period. Just put an upper limit on SL you can gain as a player for all game modes and you solve your abuse issue.
They should prioritize this mode because it’s meant to be the most efficient and fastest way for players to reach top-tier. In every game, regardless of genre, players want to reach the endgame and be prepared for new areas and vehicles as they’re introduced. Simulation mode should help save time, not waste it. I see more players with premium vehicles opting for realistic battles over simulation mode to reach top-tier, and that shouldn’t be the case. Simulation mode’s difficulty is intended to create a nearly perfect learning curve, but the nerf to rewards for time invested is incredibly discouraging. There are factors that justify high rewards in this mode, yet due to bot abuse and a few players exploiting the system, the company ends up nerfing it without considering how this affects the player experience.
We’re losing out on the economic benefits but haven’t gained any adjustments to make up for this. They’ve cut rewards but haven’t implemented systems similar to air realistic mode that might balance things out.
We’re losing RP in each vehicle’s Mark of Distinction—you can notice it at the end of each match. You see a large amount of RP, but if you look closely at the stats, you’ll see that 50-60% of this gain goes toward the Mark of Distinction, which, in my view, is useless. They could make this feature exclusive to premium accounts and direct 100% of match rewards toward vehicle progression.
In the end, we’re not truly earning 10K RP for a vehicle; it’s actually more like 5K because you haven’t completed the Mark, and you’ll have to accept the RP loss until it’s done.
They are not useless though. They basically guarantee that your team is going to win as long as there are not some very try-harding PvP players on the enemy team that can consistently intercept them before they hit objectives.
Have you played anything above 12.3 BR on Red side? It’s not much harder to get a victory…it’s practically impossible without a coordinated team. Losing the game means that you earn less silver lions and your plane is also 50% more expensive to spawn in…which also hurts SL earning ability. And it’s also much easier to get killed at high tiers because radars can pick you up as soon as you start rolling on the runway and radar missiles will be launched your way if the enemy team has any kind of momentum.
The Su-25 is only a 10.0 aircraft. It is not fighting against long range missiles and pulse doppler radars. This is actually a tier where USSR planes are still fairly competitive.
I do not play on low or middle jet tiers, but it happens on top jets.
The distribution curve suggests two possibilities:
The number of PvE players is very large, significantly impacting the overall statistics. This implies that SB does not provide suitable PVP gameplay for them, which could provide reasonable profit.
As I mentioned, the majority of players tend to play as targets, which is likely if many players prefer assault planes. For example, good K/D ratios should not be expected from the Su-25 in this context.
Top jets can carry 8-12 AAMs. 1-2 pro players is enough in the session to kill the rest of the players.
I can understand, why they do it.
As I mentioned earlier, there were only 2 convoys for an hour on the map and no “arrows” where you can find ground targets. So, AA defence is also a target. Actually, I love to kill them too. It is fun to single out and eliminate Rolands.
Too bad sim regime does not provide interesting and proper gameplay for assault planes.
Imho, it is nearly impossible to balance fighter jets and assault planes in one session in PvP regime.
