Probably my most cinematic moment yet - Defensive in Spitfire F Mk IX (the 4.7 one, not the 5.0 thing) vs Yak-3.
I joined a kinda dead server that was winding down and somehow ended up at enemy airfield hoping to squeeze out one last dogfight.
Another proud moment was when I finally stopped dying in the spitfire to my own stupidity and managed an intentional maneuver kill.
“Those two zeros are following me really tight. What if I rolled over?”
DOUBLE KILL.
Speaking of firsts, my first match where I finally managed to pull off a reversal for the first time ever over 7 months ago:
And finally,
I am very proud of my ability to land planes that have no right being airborne. My latest example is flying a Bf109G14 without ailerons using just the proverse yaw of my rudder.
I did come in a little too hot, but in my defence I couldn’t do forward slip to ditch altitude without ailerons, and with my engine on verge of dying I didnt want to lose too much energy too early.
I make it a point to demonstrate that my stick is indeed impotent at rolling left/right.
Most of these are before I discovered my newest camera controls alas.
Hopefully I’ll get a cool moment with my new camera approach and get a clip worthy of sharing other than the usual slop of my sorties I post.
Coolest thing I pulled off since my new camera was a snap roll dodge in the P-38 but the visuals are kinda useless as I was panicking all over.
Edit:
Kinda shows off camera.
Was recording to have proof of hazy + evening causing black dots to pop in & out.
Got a very smooth yak-3 kill instead.
W/A/S/D ; 1/3 ; TAB + W/S ; RMB / TAB + RMB comes in clutch for situational awareness
Edit2:
I am obsessed with trying to use Snap roll (understood as hard rudder in direction of roll, and 5 or 7 o clock stick position) in dogfights.
Had a spitfire sitting on my tail and decided it’s do or die. Got curious how ti looked from my enemy’s PoV and it’s not as cool as I thought. Needs more practice.
Still, Bf109F4 reverses spitfire through creative ways!
