Shouldn't America get weapons made this century?

yet lobbies are still 90% deaths to amraams at top tier, amraams would be amazing as an spaa especially when you are also given 9Xs…

The AIM-9M itself would be a good SAM as it is. the 9X would be overpowered.

I am dying laughing at the state of the game where ppl are trying to justify 1 nation to get amraam/9x spaa just because russia has pantsir not noticing that the other 8 nations arent getting shit lmao

Or maybe, I’m trying to get the other 9 nations to have usable top tier SPAA instead of only 1 nation being viable?

US & Israel - SLAMRAAM
UK - ASRAAM slinger
Japan - Type 81 can get ARH I think
Germany - IRIS-T slinger
Sweden - has something similar but can’t recall off the top of my head what it is

The unknowns left are Italy, France and China. But I’m fairly certain china has something and Italy I think has a good option from Hungary. France I’m not sure…but I think someone told me they had an option too

Heck, so long as they all come together and not 2+ years later like with the Pantsir…I’m sure even the soviets have an option for upgrade over the Pantsir.

Yeah you gathered that from just what I’ve said in this thread…because I, Italy Suffers, goes around defending ussr in this forum surely…

this already happens with spikes and parsels. https://youtu.be/KR6PrFO2TGk?t=581

This video demonstrates exactly why AGM-114Ls would be way too broken for the game. If people are complaining about manually locked IR missiles like this, think about how playing against much faster, radar guided FNF missiles that can be aimed and salvoed by the radar. Fixing the issues with the Hellfires already in game (or adding a really nerfed version as Movran suggested) would be a much better option to avoid more CAS powercreep.

Germany doesn’t have one yet (the one showcased a few years ago was a mockup), but they have a prototype based on the boxer planned for 2027 IIRC. Sweden does have two potential top-tier SAMs though.

EldE 98 (Giraffe 1X)

4x IRIS-T SLS with a range of 10 km and an AESA radar with a 75km range a 70 degree elevation.
Eldenhet 98 (Giraffe 1X)

BAMSE SRSAM

6x RBS 23 missiles with a range of 20 km. No radar, but has an IR search and track camera, and can recieve targeting data from external radars if Gaijin decides to add datalink as a feature.
BAMSE SRSAM

And if we want to go down that route, Norway just bought an IRIS-T SLS based SPAA with a radar called NOMADS which is probably going to get added to Sweden at some point (or maybe Germany depending on how much the German mains cry that they deserve it for some reason like how they do with every other vehicle that includes some German tech)

Idk about other nations, but the GALIX smoke launchers used by France and Sweden contains chaff which would make it possible to block the guidence by popping smoke.

Nope, only Colt 1911’s for you.

cas power creep is already here. Russia is dominating air in tank RB, because no one has a SPAA that can shoot down their planes, meanwhile they can shoot down everything you fire at them. When there 2- 4 pantsirs on 1 team you aren’t doing anything other than hoping they run out of missiles if they spam fire them.

it doesnt matter when fire & forget missiles are already in game

This thing will be balanced even with the AIM-9X.

China can get its own pantsir equivalent FK-2000 - The Chinese ground based Kashtan

Yes, and said CAS powercreep was a massive mistake. It would be best for KH-38s to be removed, rather than continue to open the can of worms that is modern CAS weapons. ]

And it very much matters, the AGM-114L is much deadlier than any of the FNFs in game so far. It ignores smoke, can relock after losing lock, has LOAL + inertial guidance, and can be rapidly salvoed at multiple targets with the AH-64D’s radar.

Isn’t it a bit disheartening, that to prove russian supremacy Gaijin needs to put their current, newest tech against Gulf War era NATO?

"However, we’re not satisfied with the current effectiveness of all M1 variants with a 120 mm gun, so we’re looking at other ways to improve them.

The first consideration is the addition of a new M829A3 shell which we’ve also seen requests and suggestions for. We’ve discussed this option, but the addition of this shell in comparison with the M829A2 will not enhance the Abrams capability against top-tier vehicles that are equipped with modern armor and built-in ERA systems. We’re still considering the possibility of adding the M829A3 shell, but as a first change, we’re going to increase the rate of fire of first-stage ammo from 6 to 5 seconds per shot on an Ace level crew, which’ll make the Abrams more effective against all opponents."

Gaijin: Best we can do.

How does that prove Russian supremacy? If anything, Gaijin is saying that modern Russian tech sucks so much, that it’s equivalent to older NATO tech.

And it’s not like American CAS is bad (based on what I’ve heard).

For EO/IR missile in game, even through the missile lock on the ground before launch, it would keep trying to lock vehicles in FOV like laser GBU track laser spot, this is why KH-38MT/KH-29TE is much better than maverick D/B,faster missile can lock vehicle sooner after launch, before vehicles runaway from FOV area.

Kh-38ML is good, the problem is Kh-38MT.
Actually, I can’t find any photo of Kh-38MT outside of airshow. there are plenty of evidence and photos of Kh-38ML in service, but none information about Kh-38MT in russian air force service is found

Gameplay wise the MT is less of an issue, as you need to get much closer to target moving targets unlike the laser one
