The gun mantlet is not frontal armor.
Try shooting HEAT at any 8.7 vehicle with ERA and you’ll see.
Mantlet is located on the back of the turret, thus isn’t frontal armor, correct.
ERA can be shot off, composite armor can not.

I agree. Now that we’ve both agreed that the vehicle’s armor is too strong then what are your other arguments over why the vehicle should not be moved up in BR?

so the t80bvm cant pen the type 10, because the areas that you marked are the turret ring and and the area next-most to the mantlet on the cheeks like on the case of the t55

The Type 10 can’t penetrate the BVM’s UFP and vice versa

You’ve stated the tank is slower than other 9.0 tanks yet the majority of other tanks at its BR are slower than it.
You’ve stated it lacks comparable firepower yet it has access to APFSDS and barrel launched ATGMs which other tanks at its BR range do not have.
You’re listing features of a 9.0 tank then saying this justifies its placement at 8.7, I don’t understand your logic.

You argued that two tanks with comparable armor is the same as a tank with effective armor versus tanks with zero effective armor.
I didn’t bring up this comparison, you did.
8.7 tanks do have darts for the most part.
Other tanks will also have better gun handling, reload and gun depression.

Majority do not have gun launched ATGMs, yet the T-55AM-1 does.
Having two effective ammo types one which can succeed where the other couldn’t initially yet other tanks are forced to play against it with zero penetrating ammo.
Excuse after excuse for why a tank which has more features than any other tank at its BR range needs to be at a lower BR than its contemporaries.

So your argument is that the T-55AM-1 should be 9.0, I’m glad we can agree.
You have understanding problems, I said 8.7 tanks without darts might not be good enough to stay where they are at the moment.
