If tanks at 8.7 without darts aren’t effective against tanks with darts maybe it’s the tanks with darts that should be moved up.

You have to stay exposed for multiple seconds in order to guide the missile to the target. Also, firing at someone that knows your approximate location is out of the question as well, he can just pop a shot and hide before your 370m/s ATGM arrives.
I won’t even talk about ATGMs detonating on props.
