Should the T-55AMD-1 and T-55AM-1 remain at 8.7

Oh you just don’t play the game, I see.

Not my problem you can’t aim at the mantlet to kill both gunner and commander.

Is the mantlet the tank’s front armor?

Is mantlet located at the back of the turret ?

Is the mantlet the tank’s front armor?

Answering my question will answer yours, so doing that will greatly help you.

Your answer to my statement was “its front armor can be penetrated by HEAT”. This is a false statement. Its front armor has composite armor making it immune to HEAT damage and resistant to lesser penetrating ATGMs.

The vehicle’s armor is more effective than any other at its BR range. It has more effective armor than some vehicles at BRs higher than its BR range. Discounting its armor as irrelevant to its balancing is disingenuous at best but from your statement it seems you simply do not understand how the tank’s armor works.

Definitely 8.7 vehicles.

he never claimed that the heat can go trough the composite(which the hull composite can be penned by a 400mm heat in certain situations)… and the hole front isnt covered by it

This is the statement they made.

This is not factually correct.

all the green areas are also parte of the front armor…

The only green area which is part of the frontal armor is the left turret cheek tip.

it is clearly not the only part… the hole lower font plate is also part of the frontal armor as well as the hole front of the turrets, even if you for whatever reason excludes the gun breach you keep having a lot of the frontal armor of the turret exposed, youre just cherrypinking the composite areas to be the front parts of the armor which is not the case

The composite armor covers the frontal armor of the T-55

The mantlet is not “frontal armor” neither is the LFP. These areas were not designed to be protected as they are not expected to be shot in the majority of engagements. You can see this in all tanks NATO or Russian.

Only if you decide to aim for that composite. Many areas will still be completely fine to go through, as poster above me already shown.

While being inferior in other things, that’s what balancing is.

“B-b-but I want to aim for the composite armor specifically and then cry my eyes out how it’s actually holding off low-grade HEAT shells.”

You can penetrate it from the front with HEAT, stop the crying, you look ridiculous.
Also, good thing we have mouse aim in game and we can basically aim for pixels.

This is a more accurate statement, but it diminishes the reality of the armor’s effectiveness.

Having to aim for weakspots versus not having to aim for weakspots.

What other vehicles at this BR range do you need to aim for weakspots to penetrate?

the mantlet is frontal armor so does the LFP(The f is for front). btw this is the mantlet:

the rest is turret front, by that stupid logic the t80bvm cant pen the frontal armor of the type 10, becase it can only pen the LFP and the turret mantlet, do you see how absurd your claims are?

it is frontal armor " is an armour plate " since it is on the front is also part of the frontal armour
