And no stabilizer. Kind of a notable absence. Hard to use the mobility effectively when anyone you come across will get the first shot off. Hard to use the great sniping ability once you’re spotted, as the time it takes you to level off the gun after peaking will give the enemy the first shot back.
It’s basically limited to either purely defensive play, or sniping/flanking particularly unaware enemies. Which can be useful, but is rarely as impactful as aggressive play. It’s why they make an awkward comparison to any other 8.7 MBT, the are so strong in other aspects, but the lack of a stabilizer hard limits what they can actually do.

T55AM1 would be less worthless in uptier compared to poor 7.7 and 8.0 who are getting uptiered to T55AM1 who just eats them. We need further BR decompression. Tho I don’t think T55AM1 will be worthless in uptiers, it has dart it has stabilizer it has laser rangefinder.
The only downsides of the T-55AM-1 is reverse and lack of TVD.
It has criminally good survivabilty compared to the XM-1, Leo L/44 and OF-40 MTCA - as I own and haved played them all. All I have to do in the 55AM1 is hold W, keep my front faced forward towards the enemy and it’s a profit.
The Russian Bias code is atrocious. It should be 9.3 - 9.0 would be fair since that’s where it’s contemporaries are. It has no business being any lower. It’s criminal and peak bias being below 9.0
Thinking T-55AM-1 deserves to be at the same BR as L/44 or XM-1.

Objectively false. It is only inferior in terms of mobility to the MTCA. To the L/44 it lacks mobility and TVD.
In armor it is superior, and in armament it is superior thanks to access to cannon-fired atgms that can be utilized to as an additional counter to hovering helicopters.

Also, it lacks in gun handling, reload speed, gun depression and it’s dart is worse as well.
Which is irrelevant if you are targeted by something with a dart, and that is more than a common occurrence at 9.0.
That thing is as niche as it can get.
You seem unwilling to admit 3BM25 is a way worse round when compared to DM23 and equivalents.

Which is what every other tank at that BR range has to deal with why is the T-55AM-1 special?
Just saying that listing it’s armor as an advantage like it’s godsent quickly fades away.
This is also the case with all those later heavies, yeah you have some armor, but still everything can go through you regardless, so it’s just a dead weight at that point.
Sure if you completely ignore every tank it can face in a downtier which is what it currently faces being placed at 8.7
Same faith would happen with T-55AM-1 if placed at 9.0 and going against several 10.0s that will easily stop that godawful round.
Uptiers suck in almost every vehicle, by moving those two vehicles up to 9.0 you wouldn’t remove the problem, just place it somewhere else.

You should be good in that compartment if you aren’t playing one of the few tanks that are stuck with APHE at 7.7.

Talking about stuff AM-1 is inferior at when compared to some other 9.0 tanks (reload, gun handling, gun depression, mobility, etc.) is somehow dishonest now.
