Shorten the span between the highest and lowest weights in each game from 1.0 to 0.7

We had this discussion already several times. It also would supersede decompression in some sense.
My thought since years, but i can’t believe gaijin wasting a single thought on this, because it forces more servers, so less money.

No, it doesn’t, if you have 50 players B.R 9-10,
Or 50 players B.R 9.3-10. you still have 50 players you have to house on your server.

I get a battle almost immediately after queueing up. The playerbase is huge and there’s no issues whatsoever with queue times. This is a nothingburger statement that Gaijin repeated over and over to refute decompressing BRs, while compressing them further.

The problem isn’t that the F-104 is hard to balance. It has counters in the early MiG-19s, MiG-21s and Lightning. The problem is that there’s a jet with 4 R-60s at the same BR as it, that it constantly uptiers into facing platforms with 30G missiles and flares, and platforms with all aspects, all while having no flares itself. The F-104 sucks in a full uptier because of those, and sucks in a downtier because they can’t hit you and you can’t hit them.

At the same BR as the F-104A you have the MiG-21, MiG-19, F-100, Su-7, Q-5, Lightning, Yak 38, Harrier, etc. None of these jets should be below 10.0, but they are, because Gaijin stuck vehicles that trash them at their original BRs. Meanwhile at low tier we have an entire +1.0BR for getting moderately better guns, or a better engine. Not going from flareless subsonics to flareless supersonics to 30G flare-carrying supersonics and all aspects within the span of about 1.0BR. It’s like going from biplanes to monoplanes or props to jets three or four times over, and it gets that little BR spread.

I support dropping the maximum gap in BRs for a match from 1.0BR to 0.7BR. It’s probably the quickest and easiest way Gaijin can treat the symptoms of BR compression without having to lock in and address the root problem. Though it won’t clear it all away, and I bet it’d just come back again a year or two later with a vengeance.
