This think has to stop. Someone’s camping across 3 container on Cargo port map shoots through them and it’s just impossible to see him. Another update we never needed in the game. Why do you do this gaijin???

This feature is realistic (wall-bang) and should be implemented to other materials as well, not only cointainers.
Shipping container wall thickness is typically around 1.6mm to 2mm (0.06 to 0.079in). They are made from durable, corrosion-resistant steel to allow for strength and flexibility — essential for withstanding the rigours of multimodal international shipping. Container roofs usually have similar thicknesses and are made from the same materials. Floors are made from wood and are generally thicker, averaging around 28mm (1.1in) for additional load-bearing support.

its annoying that its basically only darts that can do it. Other shell types don’t. Its a bit of a shock and a learning curve for new players who think these containers are hard cover that they can hide behind, only to get killed through it by a dart. It definitely does effect the Cargo Port map balance wise a bit at high tiers too.
If anything they should make other forms of non fused shells be able to go through them too, like APDS or Solid shot AP. I assume it would fuse APHE and HEAT shells if you tried to shoot them through them. (and hey, would be a well deserved buff for solid shot)

I’m fine with it. Seems silly that a container or train carriage would stop a APFSDS or APDS. Not everything has to be equal. If you’re stuck with something like HEAT-FS, too bad, so sad. You said it in your post that the guy was camping. Avoid that path and go around. Even on cargo port there numerous paths to take against a camping enemy.
This map was obviously designed when the shoot through containers weren’t a thing. So when I spawned on the right southern spawn and got imediatelly shot by a camping wma301. I don’t think thats’s fair or good map design.
very sure APDS and APHE can do it.
Now you know these can be shot through
APDS i am prety sure, but APHE can’t. However, solid shot with enought pen can go throught them (think ARL 44 and similar gun)
The funnier part is, not all containers you can shoot through, it goes through some but others just stop it, so you need to learn that.
not sure but some cotainer have things inside making it harder to pentrate
i think some do but i ma not sure, we would need some clarification on that

I did a quick test. APFSDS is able to pentrate through and AP-IT APDS is able to; however, HE things would not work. APHE dosen’t work either.

Small cotainers can be shooted easily with APHE as well basically the one that can be ram over still can’t let heat and HE pass through and those big metal box also work for APFSDS and APDS however not other ammunition.
Does it not depend on the APHE shell? I know that some have fuses with something like 19mm. If the walls are 1.x mm thick then it shouldn’t set them off right? Or has APHE been gaijined
you know they are like a millimetre of steel right? EVERYTHING should be going through.
if youre good enough to clip people through them, you deserve to do it
