Server Update 23.04.2026

Aircraft

  • PL-12, PL-12A, SD-10A — missile autopilot parameters have been adjusted, the missiles are now more stable on the trajectory.
  • PL-12A — missile mass has been increased from 198 to 214 kg, thrust and engine burn time has been increased. (Report).
  • SD-10A — the maximum missile speed in the stat card has been increased from 4.0 M to 5.0 M. (Report).

Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.

“Statcard : Mach4~> Mach5 max missile speed”

~> Does a custom test file in game with best parameters available to the pl-12 for launch to hit mach5 in terms of max mach speed.

~> Still stuck at Mach4 max missile speed

The report was made to fix the actuality of the max missile speed. Not some stat card changes.

Overall terrible changes that resulted in a much worser performing missile.

failed to mention that by change the “autopilot” parameters the distance from CM stabs got reduced from 0.3 → 0.12 and the turn is nearly as bad as an AIM-120 now.

Such ass changes:
SD-10A is the PL-12 (both dont reach mach5)
The “stability” changes made all pl-12s pull about as much (slightly better) than a 120B
Range buff of the Pl-12A is offset by slower accel and heavier weight (TTi is about 3 secs faster) on top of the pull nerf

If i am not mistaken, isn’t it an overall nerf? If it is, then I guess Chinese missile are receiving same treatment as AMRAAMS :D

Basically we went from Pl-12 = Pl-12A model wise to Aim-120B → Aim-120C

1- PL-12A was reaching 4.8 mach prior to the changes today:

The bug report was always a stat card issue.

Terrible change as with most gaijins missile balancing decisions but i guess thats par for the course.

Silver linnig is that this somewhat balanced MKK as its no longer just flat out better MK2 (and i wouldnt be surprised if this nerf was done in similair vein to turret baskets on M1 and Leo 2 in order to keep them at specific BR)

Making the PL-12A/PL-10A more powerful making Su-30MKK more powerful makes them more balanced?
What?

The PL-12s are literally worse tho?

the esst has flalen

How are they worse based on this changelog?
They have better motor characteristics now, higher stability, and loft better now…
More kg of fuel isn’t a negative…

Edit:
There are things unrelated to this changelog though:

Damn you were faster

They pull way less, all pl-12s do, the motor buff is kinda offset by the new weight and worse accel, adding to that TTI is only minimally better at long ranges (about 3 secs)

Amended my post to include what I’ve known for at least a day now.
But that’s not part of this change log, so I didn’t originally think that knowledge was relevant.

ggs! it doesn’t turn anymore, the PL-12 is officially cooked

Those pull nerfs are directly related though, its an active nerf

It is directly a related part of the changelog

None of the changelog sentences address pull/AOA, which is why I didn’t think my information was relevant.

So if the AOA is intentional, it needs to be added to the changelog.
And if it’s a bug, it needs to be fixed.

The increased motor fuel wouldn’t cause that.
And increased stability if coded correctly shouldn’t impact AOA at all.
