Serious Balance Issues with Russian Vehicles in War Thunder

Your post was ambiguous but I see what you’re saying now. Full real is mainly to enable cobras which wouldn’t be much use to the typhoon, so flanker would still be better thanks to the r73
Or not necessarily better but definitely stands a chance

ERA can get quite a lot better. Ukrainian Duplet ERA is reported to stop like 400mm worth of pen.

From what I’ve heard though, the T-14’s ERA apparently isn’t much better than Relikt. At least on the early pattern T-14s. So it appears Russia hasn’t revealed or developed a new gen ERA that is that good.

I just don’t think so. They’re still following “shoot a plate upward.” There’s only so much you can do with this. I think you’d have better luck combining an APS system with it. It’s not an inherently difficult concept. Unlike designing an armor array inside a tank hull etc.

I think based on what I’ve seen, we’re nearing the limit of what “shoot a plate upward” can do where it’s easier to build a round to defeat it, then it is to build an armor that can react to it on contact in effective ways that isn’t countered easier by the offensive munition in faster time.

Again, just my opinion. I think the future is clearly going the way of nera, composite and for the U.S. DU armor arrays. Even Duplet is essentially just finding a way to stack 2 on top of each other that work correctly. Electable era tips or breakaways thin tip could essentially bust a couple layers and negate them and have enough left over to pen the hell or turret because they’re putting that effort into the era and base hull is woefully underdeveloped comparatively to other nations non era based armor arrays.

But also, who the heck am I and what the heck do I know. ERA has its place regardless of my opinion.

I wonder if the DU arrays improve resistance to radiation

I would assume not, since hammering radiation at another source of radiation is how we crate energy lol. Deplayed uranium radiation still has radiation, it can still react with a source battering it with neutrons. If you mean like with a nuke?

If you mean from a DU dart, I’d assume unless(and I hope and think there is) there’s something in place to contain it(which again, I think there is), that it would logically increase the DU aerosol upon penetration.

We also have to account for the minimal deflection with ERA, but deflection is more possible with an APS, and I’m only talking a couple of degrees.

I would love to see what Relict or (Malchite? Whatever the T-14 Armata has).
Has for values

That’s if you deflect it. Remember, the breakaway tips, break away, and as it breaks away, creates a hole in at least the first plate that grows as it explodes outwards negating at least 1 plate. Minimally impacting deflection. Then long roads break and help with the rest, but I’m gonna stop debating after here because we’re starting to eclipse what I know.

idk why you use r73 which can be easily flared over r77s, but being able to cobra only works at low speed which is when the flanker is already cooked, or if you pull vertical whcih against eurofighter is a dumb thing to do

Because I was talking about a dogfight, not what happens before the merge

I mean thats not realistic tho, and will never happen in a game, and if the su27sm is not equally matched against a eurofighter in close range which it exells at, at what is it better then it exept missle load?

It’s a heavy fighter that’s decades older than the typhoon, it’s not gonna be better at much. But slow speed r73 hobs shots is one of those things it’s better at. It’s not uncommon for me to do that in ARB, either in a 1v1 or in a furball.

No I mean that the DU itself is known to be a very effective material for radiation shielding, since it’s contained in the array it won’t cause heavy metal poisoning to crew but would provide increased protection from outside radiation risks

Yeah. Without more knowledge on how that APFSDS works. We have no idea how the ERA would react.

I know with things like Dm33 for a good example,
Kontact 5 would degrade the round, but also very minorly deflect a round upwards, granted, this would mainly only bolster hits to the turret or the upper plate, side hits wouldn’t matter much unless you hit tons of ERA plates to degrade the APFSDS enough to block it.

Thus making the armor slightly more effective per say on the T-80u as it would increase the already high angle of hit.

wait so russia is decades behind in game?? I thought it was russian biased tho, i dont understand?? You litterly cannot name a single thing, and thats not mentioning the rafael whos micas are much better then r77s, so you are telling me the only good thing about it is a ir missle?? What happened to rusisan biased

I mean, there really isn’t date to date warfare in warthunder, otherwise Sweden would be so screwed

even a3 penetrates relict there are simulations done on yt ;)

I mean im talking in the age of the tech, you know its cooked that the best fighter that russia has, has the same amount of datalink and less width then a 12.3 radar, and has the same rwr as the said 12.3 veichle

Litterly unironically would take the 13.0 grippen over su 27sm

simulations based on what?

based on data you can find in public data then the guy takes the data and uses it in it’s calculation (which takes sometimes a whole week) it is fairly accurate ;)
