We need to claim one or two gunpods for the sea vixen to replace two missiles or a central one!

Was never done on the Sea Vixen FAW Mk2 but we could get the Sea Vixen FAW.1 on the TT that had a gunpod (on prototypes), but only firestreaks.
The single greatest buff for the Sea Vixen FAW Mk2 would be for Red Tops to finally be modeled as all-aspects I dont think they would be unreasonable considering how easy it is to defeat the red tops kinematically, but would give the Sea Vixen far more firing oppotunities

I didn’t know this had never been done on the Sea Vixen FAW Mk2; it would be interesting if they made a Sea Vixen FAW 1 as the guns are missing on that aircraft.
as @Morvran mentioned above, the only Sea Vixens capable of carrying guns was the FAW.1 Prototypes, whilst the capability was retained for the production ones, a rocket tray was installed in its place, see below:

The FAW.2 was not capable of carrying any cannons as its rocket trays were removed to make room for the cooling required for Red Tops to be used

I love those rocket pods. They look so cool. I think i’d find myself just running them and then spending the entire match deploying and undeploying them :D

We desperately need a far more extended british naval line. So many great FAA aircraft never added
DH.110 wouldnt be naval line, since the sea vixen was the naval adaptation of it, biggest issue is just the absolute lack of aircraft between the Sea Vixen/ Scimitar and the Shar, a solution would Maybe on a long shot be the P.1154 RN, hell even South Africa and India dont really give us anything there either

nah, off the top of my head, it was initially offered to the RAF, who chose the Javelin, it was then picked up by the RN who had it adapted into the Sea Vixen for their uses

Why?
Just turn slightly. Congrats you’ve defeated the Red Top. They are not anywhere near the performance of an R-60 or Aim-9. The problem is you can only fire in rear aspect and people can easily deny you shot oppotunities and laughably easily defeat your missile in rear aspect.
In front aspect, you could actualy fire back at someone coming straight at you, but if they reacted quick enough, it would just take pulling up to defeat them.
The issue with the FAW2 at 9.3 is a lot more aircraft have flares. Which basically leaves the Sea-Vixen unarmed and unplayable. 8.7 is as high as it can go and I dont think all-aspect would affect the BR placement at all.
Considering they regularly fight WWII aircraft and various bombers, all-aspect would definitely mean at least 9.3. Like you can’t expect a Tu-4 to dodge a missile.
The Red Tops are not that bad. Sure, they’re first gen IR missiles so they aren’t great. But they’ve got a higher G load, higher acceleration, and higher dV than the AIM-9B/R-3S as well as a massive warhead, uncaged seeker, and radar slaving.
and how is the Sea-Vixen suppose to fight AV-8As?
Its already impossible in an uptier at the moment, but at 9.3 it would be every match. And thats not even factoring in the 10.3s it would now face. Like the Su-25. No Guns, No Cms, only 4x easily kinematically defeated missiles.
Is a Tu-4 going to defend against a rear-aspect Red Top fired at 3km anyway? Besides it should get a lower BR anyway
First off the AV-8A is 9.7, and with only rear-aspect missiles.
As for the Su-25, the Sea Vixen is over 100km/h faster! And remember that the whole reason the Su-25 is broken and at 10.3 at all is because of its own all-aspect missiles
Now why do you think Me 262s, F-80s, Meteors, even B-57s and IL-28s, should be expected to face all-aspect missiles?
Can 9.3s not see 9.7s?
It also has 240 CMs that can deny the Sea Vixen even getting a lock, is faster and turns better and 2x Rear aspect missile that are 100% guranteed kills against the Sea Vixen
Congratulations. If its 2 people left, a Sea-Vixen vs Su-25. How is the Sea-Vixen meant to kill the Su-25? Ram? AGM-12?
Which have equal range to the Red Tops but 3x pull and a lot more reliable seeker. Remember, you can defeat a red top by turning slightly. You dont even need to pull hard. Only turn slightly.
These aircraft can all defend themselves with ease kimematically. Like laughably easily. I get the argument against SRAAM being all-aspect because you cant defeat them in the same way. But if you are dying to a Red Top in any aspect, then you either didnt see it coming, or it was a skill issue.
Can probably pull hard enough to defeat one, but again, front or rear aspect, wont change the outcome of that fight.
What can a bomber do against it. Like FR you can’t turn out of it with a il 28 when its shot 1 km away. Thats my proplem
