It’s responsible for two things, It Slaves the Missile Seeker to the selected Sensor’s (Radar / IRST / HMS / HMD etc.) look angle if a target is being tracked / switchology is correct.
Otherwise it synthesizes a program to get the seeker to scan in a pattern that effectively increases the FoR of the Sidewinder around the boresight, the pattern used depends on the Airframe & Sidewinder Variant in question.

I’m also fairly sure it has an even higher heat signature, because I’ve been able to lock it almost headon using PL-2s.
I think that the treatment of the harriers is unfair, but I highly doubt it is out of malice. Gaijin is too smart to make their premium vehicles (for multiple nations) unusable. Plus, with any buffs the Av-8A/C/S would go to 10.0+ and Gaijin may not like that.

Original modeling being bad/full of placeholders. I agree, a lot of it is to do with limitaitons both now or when they were introduced or a lack of information on introduction
But it feels like a total lack of ongoing support for any of them. Things like the Sooty Exhausts, FRS1/FA2 HUD, heat sig issues (even a basic bodge fix using the F-117 code), SRAAMs, etc. I think there is a lot they could do, but just… haven’t. I know there are a LOT of vehicles in War Thunder, but a few feel like they get updates every other week and others its every other year and some of these fixes would probably take them a few minutes as its likely a single line of code that needs changes (like the sooty exhaust)

Time to climb and VIFF were both rejected. There are videos attached to the reports to prove they are under performing.

Slightly out of the main topic I guess,
While putting the new F-5A with AIM-9L on 11.0 as an event vehicle.
Keeping SHAR FRS.1 with broken FM on 10.7(Early)/11.0 feels like nothing but pure malice to harrier lovers. I guess.
At this rate, I think I am not gonna make it for spading FRS.1(Early) :|
Of course, I know it can’t be lower due to AIM-9L though…

They didn’t even give a reason. They just said their tests were close to manual. I employ anyone to try get within a minute of that time lol.
Hint: it’s not possible, gaijin is pulling stuff from their rear end
If I were a famous war thunder YouTube creator I would ask people to make spam reports.
I see so potentially it needs a bigger zone.

The scimitar as well the rudder lock up is a PITA. IK its realistic but how realistic is it based on the pilots notes ect.
By that note every Bf109 should lock up really bad too same with some USSR planes.
