many people dont understand that many belts have rounds without tracers aswell and some even have no tracer rounds
I know what I saw, I got a short “series”, even a single hit.
IRL ground units was supposed to destroy spaa’s of enemy so aircrafts can support ground units.
But flying as CAS only for hunting SPAA’s is like u play tank only to hunt planes.
Well, not the MG 151.
Actually I might be wrong. The ground version uses realShatter so it deals a lot more structural damage than the air version, which doesn’t use realShatter.
Look at the irak war. US first bombed all anti air to have the air space completely free and then started the invasion.
Most modern planes have even ecr equipment to hunt spaa.
If you don’t kill spaas and attack tanks you get shot down.
Why would anyone play spaa if it is totally useless because planes can bomb tanks either way?
Do you know that War Thunder is a game?
A game that has little to do with reality, if you look closely.
Ah yes modern conflict, in that cas u’re right but we’re talkin about ww2 buddy
Do you know the game rock, paper, scissor?
Paper are tanks, scissors are planes and spaas are stone. You are meant to loose against spaa in a plane
OP might actually be right:

Spoiler
Looks like after they ammo was changed to realShatter it hits now quite hard.
Here’s an obvious problem with it that I have exploited multiple times:
It has limited elevation of just 49 degrees. By attacking from far enough above, it is quite literally helpless. This is not a problem on the M16.
The Russian 14.5mm IAI still doesn’t have realShatter so it explodes in a sphere of super low damaging fragments that hardly deal damage to plane structure in comparison.
Problem on M16 is a gun, brownings won’t make dmg to aircraft.
OMG 49 degrees isn’t that low. Just move on some hill or something else and you can shoot higher, and when something comes at you, hide behind something. Just skill issue.
the m16 sits at 2.7 for that reason
49 degrees is absolutely horrible for any SPAA…
Even the R3 T20 has 60 degrees and this is easily exploitable against it in a match (again, something I have done plenty times).
Why are you even telling me I have a skill issue when I expecified that it was something I do against these SPAAs?
Because you keep talking about it as if there’s no way to do something about it and just play normally with sdkfz.
Tell me at which br should the 251/21 be?
You’re making a lot of assumptions. I don’t even play the Sd.Kfz.251/21.
You can go up a hill, sure, but that requires there to be a hill. Not to mention the hill can only help your elevation from one direction, but is a detriment in the other direction.
Not to mention that you’d need a very high incline to actually achieve full 90 degrees coverage. Which just isn’t feasible in WarThunder as tanks just slide down at that point.
Did you read what I wrote at the beginning? I don’t know which one exactly, but this spaa would work even on 4.7 5.0/5.3. I was also surprised that Ostwind got 3.3 and it is a great spaa.
It doesn’t have to be a hill, just anything that will raise one side of your vehicle.
Not everyone flies particularly high, so it’s not a big problem anyway.
