You missed it’s introduction at 8.3 or whatever it was first i assume? Was easily the most broken bs ever put into this game period. It was close to unkillable for most tanks being completely in the open with ability to spam darts at weakpoints from a fully stabilized gun and gen 3 thermals running over and around everything with like double the mobility. Those were 2 weeks of havoc if ive ever experienced some. CHACK CHACK CHACK was all you heard for the 3 minutes the matches lasted.

Then it went to br ranges where arguably it should be but everything around it is inconsistent as fuck and you’ve got to be lucky like winning a lottery to actually be effective.Classic gaijin. I think they just dont know what to do with it, cause making its weapons more reliable would make it crazy strong (Like reliable 1 hit kills with spikes would be dumb af, imagine spamming kh38s from close to invincible hulldown positions) or its just a sadmobile as it is atm. But the main gun is just horrible actually. RPM lowered to 200 rpm from 700? If thats true then look at the accuracy in game :-D 200 rounds per minute from a shotgun barrel and like 5 hits at least to the tip of a gun to disable it and what? 5 for a track? on the move? and if you do manage to disable him and he stops he just turns his turret (Probably while your autocannon i think i read of that is cooled for that regard irl is overheated from firing 20 rounds), shoots your turret and the ammo explosion will blow off your tracks and make you unable to defend or move? Shooting anything in the PUMA is just a “I’m here, heres something you can easily kill attention grab atm” My god why even bother

the worst thing is its 30mm is knows to be very accurate irl thats why it has such a low fire rate but you know Gaijin stuff i find it to be the worst auto cannon in that regard and after such a long time with so many open reports most of it is still not fixed like why does MUSS not work vs Modern Missiles you know things it was designed to work against or why is from what we know its armor so weird but it will never get fixed its not russian

Moment “normal” players got it those same Youtubers started campaign to nerf it.

Fox is better than Puma ,Puma can’t pen shit,it is big ,it can’t even stop 20 mm frontally on most days

It wasnt a premium vehicle so unless those youtuber were playing it on the dev server everyone got it at the same time. I’m glad it got put to a higher br, it was the most disgusting, unbalanced thing i ever experienced in this game in 11 years of playing it.
But the state it is in now? Well, why go to the lenghts of introducing a new anti air round for only that vehicle if the whole vehicle is just in a pointless state for the br its in? especially when the 2s38 is using a similar gun with programmable rounds like AHEAD but nope, those dont work or whatever is the reason, its still shooting hevt that 1 or 2 taps anything flying too close. Feels like on one hand from time to time they do put work in it but after a couple of days effort from one guy they are like -ok that’s enough, we cant get it to work in the game? Feels so pointless to have it in game in the first place? Why put work into it at all then?

I just tried JU 288 and its new 2500 kg bombs …landed one right between T 29 and IS 4 M …scored “HIT”

Shot down ,spawn Maus …Russian 50 kg bomb falls 10 meters away from me …dead

German equipment is bad by design,none of it is even close to historic performance and all Russian stuff is buffed for “balance”

Puma will not pen BMP or BTR 80 from side in 8 out of 10 shots …and you never get to fire 10

Ah yeah the bombs on russian heavies is a funny one. dont bother dropping less than 500kg bombs on KV1s or IS series tanks. Are you familiar with the dollarplays video of the IS7 where he got bombed by the swedish SAAB105? Yes that was me. I knew he will be game deciding and i knew it was him but i wanted to win and no one in my team was able to do anything to him on the ground. unsurprisingly. And i got swarmed at my first spawn in my strv103 that could have dealt with him because of 0 team help.
those are 450 kg bombs with 270 kg tnt equivalent. Separate drops. And the plane has a ballistic computer so they land exactly on the marker, or slightly to its sides depending on which wing drops. In two passes i put both those bombs right next to his tank. It didnt kill a single crew if i remember correctly. Repair tracks and gun and you’re good to go. that’s all i’m saying here. You can buy a partly invulnerability in this “not so p2w game” after all

Btw if you remember when they were caught giving Russian tanks bonus armor by peeps that trawl trough code …that is how low they will stoop to make sure Russia is shown in positive light.

giving what to them i think theres a word missing. i dont wanna call it russian bias or anything because theres a lot of broken stuff happening on all kinds of vehicles in game but the amount of it happening to russian stuff is actually interesting. I remember the t64a, the first russian classic mbt having armor equivalent to around 1200 mm on the turret for years iirc. Hilarious af sitting hull down with it turret turned slightly sideways, having more turret armor all over the turret front except the breech than any current top tier mbt at 9.0 or whatever it was back then. Have you seen how small and cramped that turret is? 1200 mm is probably its diameter if it was a massive metal half-sphere xD. whatever the snail thought for years they put into the composite armor of the t64a back then it is kinda weird that they somehow stopped using it for the t80s. Beats me.
But being completely invincible and laughing about anything the whole enemy team can possibly sling at you while your allies pick them off was a nice change in playstyle at least

Thing is if that was just the way to make it playable and account for those tanks weaknesses it wouldnt even matter if it was happening with some transparency. Like for tanks with horrible gunhandling, very hard to use on uneven terrain, they at least need good armor otherwise they would be unplayable. Ok, give it to them, they need to be lightest, smallest but still best armored, i can’t be bothered to check for every vehicle in game what its irl stats are. But then them having even more armor would just result in them being put into higher brs. right? RIGHT?

Like reading about IS-2 so unusable, so weak. (Unrelated to that whole armor is correct or not, for those ww2 and t54s and whatnot im quite confident armor values are correct and way too easy to prove/disprove): Yeah it’s got its massive drawbacks. and for some stuff the Tiger 2 is just better (actually a lot of stuff, at least on the ground). but also easily oneshot through the side. without a massive dhska remote controlled on the turret with an incendiary round in every shell of the belt that a lot of times sets planes on fire with the first hit. and you can aim almost straight up while being basically immune to planes with smaller than 500 kg bombs. I think it’s just fine where it sits at. half the time its just not a anti tank vehicle but an invincible aa gun.

Might be a bit late to this, but I wondered if anyone knows if there are any modifiers for vehicle-mass in the .blk files?
I went through some things out of pure boredom and noticed that in the PUMA (& VJTF)'s .blk, their mass is set to 54000 (54t), which seemed odd to me and sure enough, it should be 43000 (43t)…
(according to statcard that is… 43t also is the maximum weight the Bundeswehr allows the PUMA to have, it’s more of a legal weight class, PSM used a 40.7t figure at some point but that’s a different topic ig)

Now, again, maybe I missed something (some sort of modifier ?) but when I checked the Begleitpanzer 57 mm’s .blk file, its mass (weight) was set to 28500 (28.5t), therefore 1:1 as its irl weight (according to the vehicles’ brochure) and 1:1 compared to the statcard.

Now, if there arent any modifiers I overlooked and the weight is infact incorrectly set to 54t, how would I go about bug-reporting that? Because I’ve heard people say they don’t accept reports on vehicle’s .blk files(?)

Same question kinda goes for a different issue; (once again, maybe I missed a modifier or something, feel free to lmk) the 30x173mm KETF Round (PMC 308/“AHEAD”) has a segment named "shatterDamage": { under which there is a line with "count": 32,. I assume that is what sets the amount of shrapnel coming from the shell once it fuses, but I’m not certain whether there is another multiplier that increases that amount, since the actual amount of fragments in the 30x173 KETF round would be 162 (according to Rheinmetalls own datasheet).

If anyone knows/has an idea whether there are some sort of multipliers I’m not aware of, or knows whether I’d be allowed to use the Puma’s (and for the second issue; the gun’s) .blk file in a bug-report, please let me know.

You’re looking at the wrong line, for empty mass you want "Empty", for full mass you want "TakeOff".

The weight is correctly 43 tons, there is nothing to bug report about it. The line you were looking at is a remnant from AI ground units and has no effect on “us” players.

Datamine is not allowed in bug reports in any way, shape, or form, exactly due to the easy misunderstandings like in this weight example. You’ll have to show the issue through reproducible in-game testing.
