I say it is ez because R24R did not go to the ground and more reliable than AIM7F in F4S.
F4S can detect and lock MIG23ML in advance but AIM7F throw this opportunity to the ground
You mean when they were developing the AIM-95 and then decided the 9L was good enough they didn’t need the AIM-95 after all?
Yeah I’m sure aim-95 was dropped because they didn’t need it.
The AIM-9X was only made cause Raython cried basically
AIM-95 must of been not worth it
The verbage I believe was the 9L functions well enough as an interim solution. And the AIM-95 was a victim of budgetary issues, not performance.
Alot of nations used the 9L for years
It was the first sidewinder that was actually very effective
True, however it was supposed to just have been an interim solution in US service.
So was ASRAAM not everything goes as planned
source?
That America was going to adopt ASRAAM until corporate lobbying cause them to adopt something domestic which led to AIM9X
If provided facts for the goverment is considered “crying” then eh.
Ok so now the other nations exculding russia will have to go 3 more months without a reliable BVR missile (my beloved amraams :(( )
Oh no! Anyway…
(it might be better to not rush things)
Yea maybe but 10v10 on EC maps would have been a good update for preparing but gaijin did it’s job
it was as they lobbied for the missile to be home made instead of using ASRAAM as planned
that is very important when it comes to military and economy. And they were correct. One should strive to make something “at home” when the possibility exists - and it did.
Their was no need as they were apart of ASRAAM
They only left due to lobbying and made a inferior missile
They were already testing on F16s before leaving ASRAAM
Who was the leading country getting the profits? Which country housed the project in reality?
aim 9x block ii+ is definetly superior to the latest asraams, definetly the right choice in the long run.
it isn’t
i don’t see asraams with stealth coatings
