Those are SPEAR3, not Brimstone
This image has both Brimstone (outboard) and SPEAR3 (inboard) however

Oh, cool, i didn’t even know that :) thx! ^^
Hehe, 5 air to air missiles + TGP + 12 brimstones/6 brimsones + some GBU.
JAS39E (If it comes with full loadout options and all the abilities/mechanics is going to have to be like BR 15 XD)
Yes, but I think it will be with 120C-5 or C-8 in near future.
I wait Tornado A-200C for italy tech tree in the future and armed GBU-39/B SDB
Sadly, RAF, RN and SAAF never ordered GBU-39 SDB
But in close air support (CAS) might no problem for great britain tech tree if gaijin add F/A-18A HUG 3.2, MiG-29UPG and Tejas Mk.1 someday
Never mind gaijin removed from JAS39 Gripen C
SAAF Gripen C limited IR missile IRIS-T only ?
At least Cheetah C armed R-Darter
I’m waiting GBU-39A/B Focused Lethality Munition (FLM)
Yes, the only armament it carries IRL is Iris-Ts, dumb bombs, and Litening 3, nothing else. It also tested A-Darters, but that hasn’t entered production yet. I’m pretty sure R-Darters are integrated, but they retired the missile together with the Cheetah.
Fixed, it will come in a future update.
Brilliant! thx ^^

I am displeased i was unable to figure out what the right number mean
Ah Mighty Gripen with IRST.
This plane just something else :)
I just love that Sweden went:
“stealth? It’s to expensive to develop a whole new jet, we’ll just improve the old one and slap a pod underneath it that will function like the radar equivalent of noise-canceling headphones (among a lot of other things)”
I believe in testing of the Gripen it was proved that it could carry the R-darter but they then stopped further testing (like actually firing a couple) due to budget constraints. So they retired the r-darter
They did technically design a whole new jet, in the end the Gripen-E shares very little with the original besides the underlying design… as that is the one that fit their criteria the best for short takeoff and other factors.
The only main difference of the airframe is the fuselage. Everything else dimension wise is the same IIRC.
The biggest differences lie in the electronics, engine and integrated parts as well as pylons.
So it really depends on your definition of “design a whole new jet”. If everything physically is almost exactly the same (a bit larger body for more fuel) did they really “design a whole new jet”?
I personally wouldn’t say so, what they did was rearrange an change the “guts” of the jet but the over all design remains largely the same.
The wings are larger, everything is redesigned. The landing gear is also relocated, wing planform is changed slightly, 30% additional fuel, reinforced pylons… no longer using bathtub style joints for the wing connections iirc.
Most importantly, the new design incorporates massive amounts of radar absorbent materials in the airframe to reduce RCS.
JAS-39E is quite big compare to C model.
I was surprised when i saw it for the First time.
Overall dimensionally it is somehow similar, it’s like they optimized code… but they did so with an airframe.
After all, it has more mounting points than C.
Exactly, loved it when i learned what they did.
I think its safe to say its a new design.
